Thanks for this review and comments compared to the MetaFuji trail. Hopefully it will land in Australia in the coming weeks.

Not a problem as I said I find the belt a little bouncy I much prefer my old Ultimate direction belt and am trying to hunt one down. If you can go a size smaller the salomon belt may not be quite as bouncy, however the belt seems to be made to carry the water at the front which isn't my preference
@vlalahaАй бұрын
@@andrew_tntfit I’m looking to get the XS. Was it annoying even with the bottle at the back? I don’t usually carry bottles but will be running longer distances. Do you think a 50ml bottle will be okay to hold at the back?
@andrew_tntfitАй бұрын
@@vlalaha I found it tough to get a 500ml bottle in and out at the back but think a 250ml would be easy enough to get in and out

Thanks for the vision Andrew, what a scenic route compared to Canberra trails. Anyway, good call on the DNF if your health skipped a beat on the day. Could you share your shoe choice and whether they were, in retrospect, the best fit for that race?
@andrew_tntfitАй бұрын
@@George-lz6ue I wore my Norda 001 definitely a good shoe choice for this race enough cushion and great grip especially for the back part of the race that I ended up missing part of as it is super technical and scrambly

@@andrew_tntfit Thanks for the speedy reply! Hope you do a best of 2024 trail shoe review covering the shoes you have used this year, or even over the past 18 months. It would be good to get an Aussie perspective.

Yo andrew, how would you compare the ability to 'save your legs' compared to the north face you reviewed? Oh and does the higher stack mean you need to be more aware of roots/rocks? Cheers!
@andrew_tntfit2 ай бұрын
@@palmyarmyswim they definitely save your legs similar to the vectiv pro, and yes with the slightly higher stack height you do need to be a little more careful of some rocks and tree roots

No I was wearing the ASICS metafuji trail they went really well. I have the vectiv pro but have semi retired as the grip on the forefoot has worn out a fair bit.

Top video mate, good honest review with some grate footage of your run . I've only just started trail running and currently using my road shoes Asics kinsie blast . looking to buy some trail runners. tossing up between the Asics METAFUJI TRAIL and GEL-TRABUCO 12 as they are currently on sale for half the price of the metafuji and look like they have more grip . what would be your thoughts and recommendations for a beginner running 5 to 10 km on a mix of trails from light gravel to some more bush trails like you filmed.
@andrew_tntfit2 ай бұрын
For a beginner I would lean towards the trabuco or the Fuji lite depending on how much cushion you want they both have a slightly more aggressive grip than the metafuji trail. Trabuco will give you more cushion where the fufi lite will give you some cushion but also more ground feel.
@andyc48272 ай бұрын
Thanks heaps for your advice. I got a pair of tarbuco 12, got them for a good price and they seem to get top reviews as a trail runner.

Thanks for this Andrew, appreciated the view of the mixed trail and single track you ran on. Could you say what other trail shoes you use, and how these compare to those. I'm currently using the Hoka Mafate Speed 4 and the Saucony Xodus 2 and highly rate both these shoes.
@andrew_tntfit2 ай бұрын
@george-lz6ue I have a lot of shoes I have run in the mafate speed they are a great shoe! In my current rotation I am wearing norda 001 nice soft nimble shoe lower stack but feels very cushioned I am also wearing north face vectiv enduris 3amother nice soft shoe these however have a tough plate instead of a carbon plate to be a more everyday runner. I have also run in the north face vectiv pro which were soft cushioned and felt fast but in my opinion poor grip durability. The ASICS metafuji have a cushioned feel I would say similar to the mafate but feels faster due to the plate. However the mafate would definitely excel over these on your technical trails
