There's is a lot to to like here. It's also risky. If my feet take me to one side or the other, I'm ok crossing my blocking-hand but there's no way I'd do that in the pocket. She crosses over that blocking-hand as an invitation and then absolutely makes him pay for it - this is super aggressive and super high level. Only try this when you have good fundamentals (balance/shape). Understand that you're giving your opponent an opportunity ... Don't wait

So...."Crane" kung fu kata with a Mantis style fist? 🤔
@IronWireMartialArts9 күн бұрын
Those are Crane Beaks. Not Mantis, although I can understand your thinking as their fists can look similar at times.

Awesome video Sifu! There are so many intricacies in pole fighting with many diverse tactics that truly deserve a specialized series dedicated to just the pole alone. Please make more and I would love to see Silat pole demonstrations from you as well. It would be fascinating to compare and contrast the methods of Hung Gar and Silat in regards to the pole repertoire. I suspect that there are more similarities than there are differences. Thanks so much for the awesome content! I'm going to start incorporating these movements into my pole training immediately! Thanks, Jeff
