Awesome, always looked at the Zora on the maps and wondered, fallow down the lower end as well

Great footage guys. My first Tahr trip was into the Zora. We also had a stormy night to contend with which was something else, almost completely lost our tent. Good to see there's still a few animals their.

Awesome edit. Very sharp. I’ve built a similar big tent set up. Do you leave the floor in it?
@tombasset-eason2931 Жыл бұрын
Yip the floor stayed in and was really good to stop the mud but needs a groundsheet underneath to stay water proof

Good to watch from the armchair, & looks a real example of events without getting too selective with editing. Interesting to see what is happening in those spots these days. Only reading subtitles (so many think they are wonderful dubbers of music their vids turn pear shaped), it seems a bit of hunting technique refinement may be worth considering. First being learn what 250 - 300 metres is & don't go over, can be done. An old fashioned technique called stalking. The place is full of hoppy bulls, good company for the buckshot modified ones from some other shooters with room for improvement. That bull looked hit ok, they can go a surprising distance (& survive a lot). In in culling days tahr & chamois had a higher ammo allowance for good reason, those who don't miss a few ether have Pinocchio syndrome or don't shoot enough. A lot of editing must happen for the one shot long range examples, & being real is good to see filmed. There's next time. When editing, longer scene panning, filming a bit slower for detail & good shots of veg & scenery is really interesting, showing how those places look currently. The sightings are also of value, but many try to hide what's in an area (or even hide the location), or simply can't find the tahr. Great trip & record of a great spot.

Great advise. I'm not a fan of the sound effects and blaring music. I can stick my head out of my window for that.
@tombasset-eason2931 Жыл бұрын
Cheers for the advise will aim to record a bit more for conservation next time, I get as much pleasure out of the editing as I do the hunting. Can confirm that bull was definitely missed the bullet went high, and as for the distance if we had put a stalk on we wouldn’t have able to see the bull under 400 yards until we were 2 yards away. Turns out it was a ranging issue as too the misses, won’t be borrowing that range finder again!!

@@tombasset-eason2931 Looking again showed it was high, the benefit of magnification. It can take days for them to be somewhere within range & recoverable, The long range trend is something that is mostly best left on the target range. Right place, right time makes a big difference, and the reason so few of what's actually there are seen are due to them being the silly or hungry part of the population.

While I support Anton and hope he is able to thrive in this wonderful fishery, I'm afraid your advertising is going to ruin this gem. Let word of mouth help Anton along. It won't take long before he is crowded out of his own backyard with this kind of advertising. Why not keep the location anonymous?
@tombasset-eason29316 жыл бұрын
Peter Maguire as a fly fisherman myself I understand your point however as this fishery grows in popularity, it is still possible to fish on your own on any given day over the summer if you understand the way the flats work and like any river in New Zealand have a bit of respect for other anglers!
