new comment to an old video but I have a 454 in my camaro with the same cam, having trouble getting the timing right, diesels a bit when I shut it down and its pretty hard starting when hot, any recommendations for the degrees and rpm at idle

Where are you setting up your base timing? Each Engine is Different , I would plug /dis connect vacuum adjustments if your using Hei or similar spark control. And set base timing off idle rpm taking in consideration for your total timing goal. If I recall mine liked 900 - 1100 rpm. You will most likely have to adjust the throttle accordingly around the timing. Don't just use the throttle screw to set rpms. It a combo deal between timing and throttle

That's a tough one. Fit the n20 spray bars in to the intake to get back that 3/4 of an inch you lost with the plate. Or if it's just occasional strip and mostly street I would put a low rise intake on it. Depending on cam, gearing, converter, there probably won't be a big loss in et especially with the nitrous, plus a dual plane would give better seat of the pants street driving. That intake will probably hurt power below 5k over a good dual plane anyway Unless it's got a blower or at least a tunnel ram any hilborn or Enderle style scoop sticking out of the hood looks silly to me. If it was mine I would fabricate an aircleaner that looked like a mini cowl hood that was about 12" wide 20" long and 6" high. Use soft motor mounts with a limiter then you gotta cool looking mini shaker hood sticking out but thats more than a few hour project. There's my .2 cents

Thanks for the feedback. I went back in forth with it. And landed on Modifying the air cleaner and a small addition to the hood. You're 100% right on the intake. Dual plane would perform better just about everywhere accept top end hp. I'm going for highest Horsepower #. Nice at the track and Looks good on paper lol 😆

We run a 1990 S10 509 BB twin VS Racing 78/75 1.25 A.R . 60mm gates IRD blow thru carb Revmax billet 10.5 3500 convertor built for the setup FTI level 5 TH400 3.55 gear we have it on 25lbs of boost truck is a street monster . We ran a pair of GT45 turbos in the beginning and took them back off .

How high are the rpms at part throttle? The 3.55 gears probably Help alot that's the next thing I need to change . Pull the 4.11 gears and swap for 3.55s or 3.36

There's multiple places to order them from. I wouldn't order the over priced $100 each ones .they work the same as the jcarpart $30 dollar ones. Just make sure they have the mini cats, and you may have to adjust the spacing when mounting to get it just right.

Every once in a while, if I come off the throttle fast after a hard acceleration it will throw the light and it will reset on its on after a day . And its random maybe once every couple months

I had no luck with these in my 2010 is250, what happens is that condensation (water) from the exhaust gets on the Sensor giving it a false p0158 p0138 and p0607

Did you try changing the mount spacing?. I rarely get a code . If I'm street racing getting the engine hot and come off throttle rapidly I might get. A code. Which will reset in a day on its own.
