...thanks so much for posting this. It seems like a wonderful performance to me and the Wellesz quartets are a little thinly represented on KZbin--very thinly. It's great to be able to hear this....

Ironically -about 40years later[1980 ] and about 400yads from the spot where alien internment camp in Huyton where [Knowsley Teachers Centre ]this was written; [1940] another "Huyton Suite" was rehearsed by the Knowsley Youth Orchestra[1980] . and performed in the Huyton Suite [2 mies away] conducted by the composer retired music teacher Ted Kirk. I have no score of it. At 2;15/2;17 there is an optimistic flute bird call?from this cheerful suite. .

Short but very nice video with this lovely lady, wife of the legendary violinist Louis Kaufman. And Max Steiner? Genius! Thank you exilarte Center for posting this video.

Very interesting! Concert music is written for the listener and player, while film scoring is creating emotion to the viewer.

Hello: very interesting interview with Mr. Carroll. I like to hear his perspective on Steiner and Korngold, but there are one or two biographical and errors of timescale, especially where Steiner is concerned. BUT a fascinating interview nonetheless - thank you.

This Huyton Suite was written before they went to the Isle Of Man -in the Huyton Aliens camp in. 1940 at Adswood road near the main Liverpool Manchester Road..Not far away were other Huyton Camps for Italien and German prisoners of war. In Liverpool walker Art Gallery are art works done by other internees there at that time and they formed a "camp University" with self education as the aim.
