It's what happens when you have people that believe they know what they are doing, and, believe they are higher than mighty, to what local folk believe, and, actually want. This Town has been dragged down by so called 'local' councillors, simple as! Was once a fantastic Market Town, sadly, no more.

My grandparents were John and Audrey Brammer of Falklands Drive. John always told me about the tramway and his work in the metal box factory on Weasenham Lane. He got me interested in the railways and he inspires me to carry on with my project to restore an old station here in Lynn

I was at the Grammar School in the 1970s. Quite a gem them, architecture-wise, but demographically, not such a gem now, plus it's had some seriously awful rodgering by the town planners and developers over the last 40+ years.

Fabulous, so well done. I was at school in Wisbech in the 1970s and left the area for pastures anew in the late 1970s. Although in mild decline even then, I cannot believe how sad-looking and poorly-developed it's become. One can only speculate why... Great to see how fine it once was, so thanks for posting.

Very interesting that the style of singing used is a style from the black people in America.! Secondly, nobody is talking about the Muslim ruler of Senegal that Clarkson got the ideas about freedom from! But then again I'm not surprised because America never wants to tell the real truth about history!!
@jasonturner85093 жыл бұрын
You are talking total rubbish! This is a local English folk group, plus Thomas Clarkson was English, he was born in my hometown! He got his idea for freeing the slaves from the essay he'd written at Cambridge University, and spent the rest of his life towards freeing slaves, which he achieved in the British Empire. If you've a Statement to share, at least get your facts right, don't try and belittle a great Abolitionists lifetime's work with negative lies!
@abdulrahmanraheem4233 жыл бұрын
@@jasonturner8509 Mr turner you obviously have not read his written articles about the subject. His writing is clear about Imam Abdul.Qadr Kan. If you take the time to examine his works you will find what I'm talking about. And I am not trying belittle the works of the abolishment nor the abolishment movement, in fact I honor their Christian enthusiasm and endeavors. But truth is truth and history has hidden much of it.

@@abdulrahmanraheem423 you are spouting wishful thinking rubbish! Working at The Wisbech and Fenland Museum you learn all there is to know about Thomas Clarkson, we have artifacts from his life including his traveling chest, Wisbech was his home town, if you checkout the picture video, you will see The Clarkson Memorial, dedicated to Thomas Clarkson and his work to end slavery.
@jasonturner85093 жыл бұрын
@@abdulrahmanraheem423 he did indeed mention him and praise him, not contesting this fact, but Abdul-Qadir Kan taking the credit for Thomas Clarkson involvement and success against the slave trade is a joke! It also was the same as British MP William Wilberforce taking far too much credit for Clarkson & Sharps hard work!

Very interesting.My Great Granny was a bedridden 101 year old when she died in 1986 but often talked of her childhood in Parson Drove and time as a Nurse maid in Wisbech in the 1900s for the son of J.L Brown the photographer.
