Most people who would want this would want to use it for HF shortwave, any old radio has FM. A demonstration of shortwave would have been a better selling point as a video idea.

Wow!! Well done receiving 3SH from there during the day. Thanks for sharing. Years ago back in 1973, while holidaying in Griffith NSW, I noticed that it was possible to receive both 2UE Sydney and 3UZ Melbourne faintly during the day on my portable radio.

Interesting reception. Your pronunciation of Kaikohe is absolutely correct. When I first saw the name on a map, I originally thought it was pronounced as ""Cake-o" LOL!!! I am glad I got the name correct before traveling later to New Zealand, I might have ended up being linched!!!

bonzariffic good to always get a golden find again, i noticed the same for a local station usually on AM and lately FM it was weak on FM KBRD 101.3 and AM680, this year before my radio went kaput that station got much more power, ohhh the warping is so sweet to hear again.

Also in the FM settings on this radio Set level offset control is on 0 db.. Set low level threshold is set at 10 db what is the purpose of these settings and what is the best settings for picking up weaker stations and also if I set those settings lower or higher I get a buzzing noise mostly I want the settings set to able to pick up less static and buzzing interference noise the stereo in audio settings set stereo sep threshold is on 35dbuV. Mainly I love the radio and use the telescopic antenna the radio came with. What recommendatiions would you recommend on all the settings from Audio settings Display Settings RDS settings and FM settings for picking up weaker stations for dxing on the FM and Also the AM band too. Please get back to me as soon as you can. Since it didn't come with a user manual still learning the radio settings to be able to get weaker distance stations on On the band if you can help me I would really appreciate this Thank you very much and have a good day. I have other Tef-6686 radios too a couple of the LNA preamplifier radio and a couple of the full band tef-6686 radios with the red yellow blue buttons in front of the radio great radios. Thanks again Curtis Mcmenamin

Hi this is Curtis Mcmenamin I have this same radio a couple of questions I have to ask you Set High Cut Threshold it is set to off what is the best position for this setting for picking up weaker stations and what is the purpose of this feature
@dxer2200029 күн бұрын
I'm not 100% sure but I think its an audio related feature not an RF related one. To limit the audio bandwidth. I don't use or set these features. Maybe someone else can chip in with more info

On this radio I have one and it didn't come with instructions but the radio has FM settings on the menu and one of the options on the settings is FM sensitivity scan and you can adjust it from 1 to 15 what is the best settings on the radio for the best reception on all bands like the radio alot but need help on the best positions for the best settings to get good reception on all bands can you get back to me as soon as possible thank you very much have a good day
@dxer22000Ай бұрын
the FM sensitivity scan can be set to allow you to set the FM signal strength the auto scan will land on. If you only want it to land on strong local signals, then set it high, like 10+. If you have it set low, it will land on weaker FM signals

If it was DRM it didnt look modulated with audio data
@dxer22000Ай бұрын
being an analogue receiver, it is only going to receive noise. It cannot decode anything digital

@@dxer22000 im aware of that.. but the DRM carriers looked unmodulated.. this could of been BAI doing a test ?
