I am researching Bokashi fermentation and came across your video. Thank you for the information. In my opinion, High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) fabricated plastic materials are more suitable for these types of applications. Cylindrical HDPE tanks with sealed heavy pressing lids on them may be better than metal fermenters. HDPE is resistant to most organic materials and extreme pH levels.

G'day, nice bin, I'm looking to bokashi stable manure to feed compost worms. Will a hammer mill do the job? What do you use to granulise your compost?

I’m interested in the process. I’d like to see a start to finish application. My thought is that I could gain food from local restaurants, use this to convert the food into biomass and then apply it to my pasture and build up the soil over time. I’m in Texas. I’m curious what all would go into that process.

Could you just keep the pail full and extract juice and keep bokomposting as the solids keep sinking as they breakdown a single person could take a long time to fill the bucket

Can you put fresh beer brewing mash/spent grain in bokashi buckets. Or do you need to dry it/freeze it? Because if it is too hot it will kill bacteria, right? Or does the anarobic state not let it heat up?

One thing seems to be wrong with it the flap looks like it could be attached at the top and made to cover the opening of the hopper not just the blades because if you look at the blades it pulls the flaps to the back of the machine when it is running so you will have splash back.may be a piece of hard plastic over it so you can open and close it also maybe a slit in the top so you can put a stick in it to unclog it

Hi, would it takw the same amount of time to break down wood shavings, hay, bunny poop/pee and cardboard? I have bunnies and they produce so much great stuff for composting but it takes too long and i always have too much bunny compost to handle. My bunnies produce about 6-7 bags of waste a week. (50lb wood pellet stove bags) i usually end up giving it away for free in the summer but in the winter.. i have a surplus lol help!

You could use bokashi. You could also look at EM flooring for your hutches. Korean Natural Farming details how to do this.

I think it would be more useful to have the barrel, AND the platform on wheels too, if you expect it all to be portable/stowable. That would probably require the grinder stand to be a little higher. Personally, I'd prefer drawbolts on the hopper hold downs, not turning handles. They're faster to use. Do you sell just the grinding unit separately, or able to fold up the major components for nesting prior to storing?

Your trench is out of frame. It's not a very good example if we can't see what your doing. It may as well be radio. I've been thinking about starting some bokashi buckets. I was thinking it would be a fair way to help fill up a low spot in the yard.

Dewatering is only practical on an industrial scale operation. Bokashicycle has patented this process and does license and issue site certificates to operators who want to industrially process food waste.

@utubebokashicyclellc
@utubebokashicyclellc 7 жыл бұрын
Yes. All food waste can be processed in this manner. Bones pass easily through the machine, larger bones being fractured and small bones pulverized.

utubebokashicyclellc why ferment for 10 days? thought this was going to feed animals?
@utubebokashicyclellc
@utubebokashicyclellc 7 жыл бұрын
Fermenting is by far the most efficient and safe way of handling food waste. It is converted to a high value product useful for establishing biologically active soils. By mixing the end products of fermentation into the soil the number and diversity of microbial flora expands in addition to increasing the nutrients and metabolites that plants can take up and use efficiently. Although you can feed pulverized waste to animals, assuming you have eliminated pathogens which are commonly going to accompany food waste, it is not the best use and is in fact ill advised.

Dilution ratio for tea is quite optimal at 1:50 tea to water. Approximately 4 tablespoons in 1 gallon works well. Dilution levels of 1:20 are generally well tolerated. Anything over 1:100 is far too dilute although it is not harmful at this dilution. I hope that helps those who wonder about diluting the tea.

We add the bokashi culture mix to the food waste before pulverizing. When it is pulverized it is simultaneously inoculated and goes straight into the barrel fermenter. We seal that to exclude oxygen and leave it alone about 10 days. It's then at that point pickled (metabolized and altered) with pathogens killed. We then separate that into AgrowTea and AgrowPulp and use it tilling cake back to soil and foliar or drip irrigate plants. It also stops odors and eliminates vectors.

Hey good video but I was wondering does this machine just do basic medium to soft fruits and veggies? O5r can it do like corr husks,meat ,meat with bones (small,medium or large or all?) Also what is it that you do with your crushed material do you you is for some sorta feed or dry it out and turn it in to pellets or some thing or is it just compost?
@utubebokashicyclellc
@utubebokashicyclellc 7 жыл бұрын
All food waste can be processed with this machine. You want to ferment the waste converting it to a bio pulp. The bio pulp can be further treated and separated into a tea and cake for use in agriculture. The products can also be pelletized and directed to feeding the microbial flora living in soil which is a high value process eliminating the need to use chemical fertilizers. Bokashicycle has patented this process on an industrial scale and provides licenses and site certificates and the entire production facility layout for food waste or manure processing to clients. You can contact us at [email protected]

Both the AgrowTea and AgrowPulp are packaged to exclude oxygen. They can then be transported and used anywhere. You don't need to worry about the pH. The low pH is due to carboxylic acids accumulating. They are rapidly eaten up in the soil which is also a strong buffer. The pH is around 6.5 in the soil.

With regards to chlorine in the water and killing of microbes. It will depend on how long you let the water stand before mixing the water with the tea. It will potentially have some killing effect but it is highly unlikely to kill all microbes. Also, the nutrients in the tea feed the microbes in the soil which re-expands the population. This is the greater impact with both nutrients and microbial flora expanding.
