I hate this film! It does, in my opinion, a great disservice to the memory of Colonel Patterson, the author of the book. I advise anyone who is interested in this story to read the book - "The Man-Eaters of Tsavo" by JH Patterson to get the real story. If you take the trouble to read that you will understand why I have been incensed by the treatment this film gives him and the story - a typical American/Hollywood "adaptation" portraying a (fictional) American great white hunter (Michael Douglas) who has to show the British guy how it should be done!
