My wife Ruth Anderson directed this camp for 25 years. Sadly she passed in 2020. She would tell me every year that she wouldn't be around for my birthday as she was going to Cispus. She loved being there and I loved her for that. She will be missed by all the people she touched.

We are so proud of our beloved principal! She truly cares and DFE has her heart. So thankful my kids get to attend this school, and I have the opportunity to sub at this school on a regular basis. She is so deserving of this recognition!

Dr. Sork is an incredible principal, beloved by the kids & staff. Dorothy Fox, the school she leads, is her heart & soul. She's so deserving of this accomplishment.

Two tips: Mr principal, there is no such word as ‘ownest’. Ownership of student’s attendance is the parents responsibility, Not the school system.

What you heard was the word "onus". It is defined as, "Onus is a formal word that means "a responsibility, obligation, or burden". It can also be used in some contexts as a synonym for blame or stigma." AKA...you are wrong.

I haven’t been to Cispus since I was 10. Granger Middle School would do a camp Cispus trip for the 5th graders and that was an awesome experience! I happy to say that I joined the Washington Conservation Corps and we will be heading to Cispus for orientation in 2 weeks! I’m so excited to see that place after 16 years!🌲💚

Congrats, Brad! So well deserving. I loved this video and learning more about you - it is much of what I strive for as a leader. I would use the phrase "servant warrior" to describe you after watching that. The community of Chelan is lucky to have you leading the youth of that wonderful area. Enjoy the journey ahead related to being WA State POY...congratulations!

1. automated attendance system works well, and better if tied to "texting" 2. have you considered lunch and/or afterschool interventions -when students are late/missing class and even assignments they are required to attend and "catch up" - this is not punitive... it promotes responsibility and logical consequences 3. staffing may be an issue but principals control schedules...just find the right people to support students 4. by default, the students who already attend regularly are rewarded the most...student who are chronically absent already have intrenched behavioral patterns 5. have students understand their patterns...positive and negative, then help them deicide Why, How, and What they can change -help students create some short term, medium term, and long term goals during the intervention process 6. intervene then empower students 7. KISS...keep it simple silly...for teachers, staff, parents, and students....and of course admin
