Oh mate I’m so sorry, as soon as I have run my bike in I’ll come for a ride with you on my Enfield 350 classic but I don’t ride very quick because I’m retired. If it helps I’ve had depression all my life and only got one friend she is lovely but not a biker. I couldn’t go to the bike show because of the crowds . The farmer are supposed to clean it up but they don’t 👍🏍️

This video just showed up in my feed, now subscribed so you've another virtual pal. Well done for speaking out, it's all too easy to hide away. Hang in there man, even on the darkest days, remind yourself that better days are ahead. Though very different circumstances, I lost all my so-called friends when my health went to sh!t. Lost my career, any earning potential, things got real dark for a while. The darker days are behind me and I can count all of my friends on one thumb, still gets tough at times, but speaking out does help. Obviously we've never met but please feel free to reach out any time, I'm on here most days. And if you find yourself down south, there's a place at my table for ya. Looking at the amount of comments, you've got a decent community on here. Always remember that and stay strong brother, hope things improve soon. All the best, Tommy.

I wrote a comment Brian and then deleted it, as it felt more like stuff you'd talk over a dring or two, or in in a videocall. You raised an important topic there. Few random thoughts from experience: When you divorce/end relationship, you divorce the friends too. The ywill disappear. When moving continents, living in different parts of the world, you leave friends behind. Some of them will stay, and those you do, and you connect with them, even if mostly via video calls, ... cherish these. They are rare. Ditch "friends" that squeeze the juice out of you, take advantage of you. A closed door, an open book or a day out in the wilderness is better than fake friends. Being ADHD (more of the HD than the AD side of things), doing friendship is easy, and therefore tough at the same time: I can move on to a new place and easily make friends. I can make friends online, but I keep layers of protection (imagine being an onion) - it's not many ... if any I let to get under the skin, makes most of friendships seeming quite shallow, or intensive short-lived. Kudos to you for sharing all this stuff. It's quite rare nowadays. Stay strong buddy, and if in need ... just get in touch, happye to jump on a video call anytime (as I got friends all around the globe, this is for me the only option when not travelling..., I'm being a stranger in my own country of origin...)

First off I think it's great that you have the courage to say something that a lot of people keep quiet about and suffer in silence. It seems harder to make friends as you get older, for me although I have some people that I see occasionally it seems like my interests are a tad niche. None of my local friends are into bikes and have busy lives, so we only go out once of twice a year for a hill walk, more life long friends have moved far away. I do find that the occasional trip to a local bike meet and bar be que helps and I've had some good interactions with fellow [older] bikers. Since then I've met people that I'm happy to go out for a ride with occasionally. Many years ago I lost my main friendship group after splitting up with my long term partner, people take sides and feel free to judge without knowing the background. If they knew the truth they wouldn't have been as judgemental - but that would have meant I would have had to dish the dirt. I decided to keep quiet as I thought "if you judge me without knowing the story then you're not really a friend".

@NickVoaden-p2q
@NickVoaden-p2q 21 сағат бұрын
You would feel lonely in a room full of people after the end of a long term relationship . From limited experience it just takes time to mourn the relationship regardless of fault. Just keep doing what you do and the right people will find ya. You can’t ride a bike and have no mates, we all got you 👍

Kinda sad if you mention farmers keeping mud off the road on OpinionBook, you'll get a dozen comments defending them. They wouldn't be so vocal if someone they loved was killed after someone slipped and crashed on all the crap left on the roads. All the roads round my on the Welsh Marches are slick as... Keep riding maybe walk a bit if that floats your boat, just avoid the rivers at the moment as they are buggers.
