I had a pica for years, I ate cornstarch. Please have her tested for an iron deficiency. She's not wierd. And it can and does actually taste good.

This is pica. Black women need Sun and vitamin D and calcium supplementation. This isn't a good sign. She is craving minerals. The darker someone's melanin concentration in their skin, the harder it is to absorb UV light from the sun, which turns dihydro-testosterone into vitamin D, which helps absorb calcium and ect. Get her on a vitamin D3 COMPLEX, and urge her to Sun bathe a couple tikes per week for atleast 15 to 20 minutes, or longer, stat. This is so common in black women and Indian women, it's not even funny. Puberty makes it worse.

A lot of people with Pica eat it due to low iron! I have Pica and it’s basically having weird cravings for non food due to low iron, some people might chew ice or cornstarch for its consistency that’s why it’s so popular 🤍 hope that helps
