Bruh! I was in Laerskool Diepgezet! My father was the mine engineer for a year or two. This was 39ish years ago? 1983 to 1985ish. Best place to be a kid, ever! Exploring waterfalls, rivers, mountains, so many many places to swim. Summer rains would drape that mountain with silver curtains of waterfalls! Paradise! Whatever you pop in the ground grows. There were lichis, avos, nuts, papaya, prunes, perskes, banans, you name it... In our gardens. 75 numbers on the phone list.

1998 the town village next door Msauli, i stayed at for 2 weeks. picture 'Est, beauty , but today like Diepgezet, grinded to dust . Msauli ws on your map at the end of the vid , the town just before and south of diepgezet. Msauli was very pretty more than Diepgezet.

Hi Ghaan, it doubt that one will be able to buy a yard there, the problem is asbestos pollution in the town. It can seriously affect the lungs of people, so maybe not a good place to stay at for extended periods.

Wouter dit is 'n uitstekende video! Jy het rerig mooi video van die diere gekry! Ons was in Junie 2022 daar, maar net vir 'n dag so ons het geen groot katte gesien nie (Ons was oppad om die visrivier gaan stap by Ai-Ais).

Next October I am coming to Botswana for second time. Done Sa part of Kgalagadi. DO you think I should go to CKGR and my thing is only big cats photography? Wonderful video.

CKGR is great for big cats! The grass and foliage should also still allow window for good pics in October, it gets thicker later in summer. Lions are plentiful, leopards abound, cheetah can sometimes be spotted on the plains, and we even happend upon a familiy of rooikat (caracal) playing in the road. Nothing is gauranteed, so hopefully you'll get good sightings!

They do look similar, but we don't have Phoneutria in South Africa, just these scary looking rain spiders that reportedly have fairly weak venom ;)

Thank you Naser. It was in April, autumn is a good time to visit CKGR, not too warm or cold and the veld looks lovely with the golden grassy plains.
