Most problematic shifter I’ve dealt with, don’t bother wasting your time or money on this. You definitely get what you pay for on this one, Go spend the extra cash and get something reliable and most importantly, functioning.

I purchased one of these and the instructions are horrible, they say they are for a C4 but the video shows different transmissions and with a C4 you cannot install in the two forward spots as the linkage hits the trans or the brackets. Overall this is a piece of shit and I'm sorry I bought it. I'm an experienced mechanic and used to a bit of tweeking but this is ridiculous. The instructions that are supplied online virtually useless, how hard would it have been to make trans specific printed instructions? Don't buy any of their products, I had the same problems with the autoloc ebrake.

I put one on my 1956 F100 that has a 1974 C4 trans. The only problem was that the shift cable is too short after installing the side shift device so I had to make an extension device between the cable and shift knob button. This video shows it being too long and having to be cut. Jim

I tried to download the instructions, I kept getting the "email error" message everyone is getting (why can't ASC just include the instructions!!?? 2. So I winged it with this video. Everything is intuitive. After install, all seems good! Tip: leave all bracket bolts loose, very loose as you are installing. Nothing will line-up if you tighten them down initially.

Garbage! Not worthy of the name America to be in the title. The bolts strip out, it works like crap and they are to cheap to send some directions. If you try to download their directions from the web site it fails and you get nothing. But that's OK just watch youtube and some ads to get the most ridiculous instruction i have seen. Also make sure you install the rod bearings correctly, don't forget to use plastigauge.

Horrible design and cheap as hell. Does not work with C6 without a lot of modifications. Rear mounts do not reach center bracket. YOU CANT !! Put the drivers side bracket on the Band Adjusting pawl. Stupid as stupid gets ! I have installed a ton of Lokars and these junk knock offs. All are not worth the money and time.

Will never buy another lokar or American shifter product again. Cheapest crap ever made and crappy shifter knobs. Mine broke 2 weeks after installing it. Junk!

Just started installation on my 727 paired to a big block in my 76 power wagon. Not sure why but there's a bunch of problems mounting the brackets. The 2nd bracket secured by 1 bolt is bent in the wrong position and seems like it won't even reach. I'm going to make it work. But for everyone else wondering if this will work for a big block 4x4 package.. NO IT WONT.

Ok I seen all the bad input on this shifter. Does anyone have any positive feed back? I like the way it gives 8 mounting positions for the shifter. Since this will be going on a th350 but in a high mount looks like I may be able to use the existing boot hole.
