Samus used to be my favourite character on Smash Brothers back when I was about seven. I had no idea it was a she haha I never played Metroid though.

lol, that actually was a big twist in the end of the original Metroid. When you complete it, Samus takes off her armour showing the player she is female. All marketing for the game never referred to Samus as male or female.
