Not sure if this helps: 1. You may connect either the telescoping antenna provided or an external wire antenna of your choice. To connect the telescoping antenna; screw the antenna end through the top cover and into the spacer located on the PC board. If you chose to use external wire antenna; plug it into the INPUT SO239 connector located on the back of the unit. (DO NOT HAVE BOTH ANTENNAS CONNECTED AT THE SAME TIME!) 2. Connect a cable from the output of the MFJ-1020C to your receiving equipment. 3. Connect a wire (#18 ga. approx.) from the wing-nut ground to the receiver ground which, in turn, should be connected to an earth ground. If the unit is operated in a portable application, this ground need not be connected. Thats from the manual. On the schematic it looks like the antenna is grounded via the J3 Input on the rear. So I dont think you need a seperate ground, as the J3 Input is grounded. Hope that helps , Ive never owned one of these.

I think you may be right about the two antennas at once. As long as I use external antenna, I don't need to repair the telescoping antenna.

Okay so these companies can throw around the two letter word AI but I can assure you that's not what's actually happening. I used to work for a company called cornerstone brands they're part of HSN otherwise known as QVC and the brands that the branch cornerstone takes in is front gate grandin road and Ballard designs. Customers of your age group and older used to call in all the time and bitch about what they paid for the product yesterday and that they want the price that's on there today sometimes the price could literally change in an hour but it's human beings behind the computer doing it does not AI ai is not capable of that at this time. AI does not really exist in the manner that most people fear particularly those on the other side of life fear it does not exist in that form basically what AI at this point boils down to is a couple of shitty chatbots and basically a huge stock market scam! Kroger and of course Amazon Target Walmart pennies Macy's Kohl's any company that sells anything online that's a human being changing his prices it is not an autonomous set it and forget it sis the company's May blab that they have but it's really just human beings behind the computer in other words you've been lied to!

Yes, people have been doing this for a long time. But people are more limited in the information they can handle for a certain number of customers. The next step was to get a computer that can handle huge amounts of customers using rules humans set up. I think of the algorithm when I think of this. You could codify the results you want by creating a program. This starts handling, say, pricing to create more profits for the company. Algorithms can end up being a black box with so many human adjustments. The programmers might actually have no idea how it is working, but they can see the results, more or less profit. AI takes it another level by writing the rules itself. Again, you have human input, but some of it is unknown to the programmers. By collecting huge amounts of data on individual customers, it can create rules just for that customer. We have already seen how programmers even unwittingly can put their own prejudices into programs like this. The idea of using facial recognition to identify individuals and change pricing in real time allows for all kinds of unethical practices. Politic correctness and ecen racism show up in AI programs. If an Asian person is buying Asian products right next to me and the prices are different, isn't it racism? The worst thing is they present all this as making the shopping experience for the customers much better, but it is certainly going to make customers pay more, thus maximizing profits. And we have a huge amount of information about people that probably isn't going to be very secure from hakers. Everything you buy in the grocery store and most likely the pharmacy are going to be their for hackers. They could even target peoples homes for certain drugs. They would know when you get a new prescription and when you are usually shopping. All great information for a burglary!

No, very loud copyright music. Believe it or not, there are "music police." Musicians pay into a company that checks to see if their music is being used without paying the copyright fees. Then they sue on behalf of the musicians. KZbin had to pay pit an enormous amount of money because of copyright infringement. If a store plays music, it pays copyright fees. It only covers music being played in the store. Recording in a store with just a small amount of background music that you might not even notice makes KZbin libel to fines. KZbin has a computer program that listens to any music. The video can be rejected by KZbin for copyright problems. Sometimes, they allow you to have it on, but the copyright holder takes any revenue the ads bring in. It can even be rejected in different countries because their copyright system is different. So KZbin offers some music you can use that they secure the copyright to. There are companies that offer music you can use that needs no copyright or they payed to use it. These are usually music that is in a video editing program such as VN I run on my Android phone. youtube computers could pick up music in the background you don't even notice during the editing process. So, I delete the soundtrack and voice-over or add safe music. I'd guess that 90 plus percent of problem videos I do a voice over. If I thought there was no music on it and edit and upload it to KZbin and they find music, I'll admit I get frustrated and delete the sound track of the original video, add music, and up it goes. My channel works by having a lot of videos that continue to make a small amount of money.

Boy, are you touchy! Yes, I've been exploring AI. I have used it in some of my video title screens. This is the big difference. My channel is what I do for fun. If it isn't fun. I'm probably not going to make many videos that are not fun to make. So, if you are going to get upset in the first 8 seconds of a video, you will have to try other channels. I experimented with a title creation program as well that would jazz up the title with graphic arts and moving elements. Those were pretty artificial also, but the program didn't use artificial intelligence to make them. Have you watched many of my videos in the last few months? If you have you have missed that, I used it a lot in my videos for titles. Is this the first one you have noticed? Right now, I'm experimenting with 4K resolution videos. Have you watched any posted since yesterday? Did you notice? The trouble with 4K is most people can't watch it in 4K. My new camera can also do 8K! I'm using the camera in the Samsung S24 Plus. I'm sure as I explore other new technologies, I will try to incorporate them into my videos for a while. I've only used AI for title screens. I would note it in the description box. For the future, I would like to learn to use AI on audio tracks to make voices clearer from background noise. As other technologies come into the mostly free to try I hope I can try them out as well. Reading about technology is quite a bit different from learning how to use it and to grade the job it does. One of today's videos is about a retailer using "using real-time pricing driven by AI". I'm definitely against that. 5 to 10 seconds of AI to make a title screen, I think, is ok. I'm not an artist. I can't afford to really buy clip art. Things produced by AI can't be copyrighted. So, I get images for nominal subscription fees or for free. So there you go. If you can't put up with title screens that last less than ten seconds, there are going to be a lot of videos on youtube you can't watch.

they never learn, man. The Innuit had no warming fires in their igloos, at MUCH colder temps, and for much longer periods of time. There's nothing special about snow as a building material. If your shelter is small, SEALED, insulated (with debris) and reflective, you can easily do without a fire at 0F degrees, without a sleeping bag (as one of your 10 gear-picks) You get to take and make 8 layers of clothing, and can have debris between each layer. A reflective tyvek bivy is more useful for this challenge than any sleeping bag, cause it's unaffected by its get wet.. About day 60, when it's too cold for rain to be a threat, you can convert the 10x16 ft producers tarp into a debris stuffed sleeping bag, with the reflective bivy inside of it. leaving on all your layers of clothing. Up on a raised bed, you'll be plenty warm enough and they never see 0F under current rules. When you remove the tarp from the 6" thick layer of dry debris on the outside of your reflective tarp and tape pole-tent, you have to cover the debris with a 2" thick layer of damp debris, at dusk. Let this layer freeze overnight. then you can add a "wetter" 3" thick layer of debris the next night and again the next night. So you'll have 12" inches of dry debris, 8" of frozen debris, 3 layers of tarp, one of them being reflective, one layer of reflective tyvek, 8 layers of clothing, 7 layers of dry grass/moss between the clothing layers. You are NOT going to feel cold at a mere 0F degrees, guys. They only have 2-3 weeks below +20F, and then only at night They launch in mid Sept at 50F degrees and it doesn't even freeze for a month after that. For another month, it doesn't fail to thaw out in the afternoons. Anyone can Google for a monthly temperature chart of these areas and see that I"m correct about the above statements.

Gotta say it Mike, you won't like it. Live in Maine, the capital of Lobster. 940 videos, search the keyword lobster, not a single video appears. How do you manage to avoid the most prominent thing in your area without covering it? You should have 20 to 30 videos by now. This doesn't mean you have to buy them, but you could get near them, or find someone willing to show their catch, or something.

I don't eat lobster often. Maybe two or three years ago. Not everyone in the family likes it. Most of my food videos focus on food that is much cheaper. Did you know lobsters were so plentiful that they made a law in Maine that you could only feed lobster to inmates in prison twice a week?

if you see a fire in their shelter, you''re looking at a dummy. When you DO need to work in the pavilion, the one way projected heat of a Siberian fire lay CAN be used to warm you, if needed. However, no such heat is needed during the first 30 days, cause it wont even have frozen overnight yet. For another month, it wont fail to that out in the afternoon. They wont see 0F, ever, cause they wont see the middle of December. Season 10, they didn't even see Thanksgiving Day out there! they launch in mid-september and lasted just 64 days. There's no need to take a sleeping bag, ferrorod, cookpot, axe, saw, paracord, fishing kit, snarewire, belt knife, gillnet or bow.

You're back! There is no need to bring a sleeping bag? That is crazy! Getting quality sleep is an extremely important thing in a survival situation or in this survival game. Being in a high-quality sleeping dry sleeping bag saves an enormous amount of calories! Have you ever gone through situations where you could not get quality sleep? I have. It drastically affects your energy level and your mental attitude. In survival situations, it may be extremely difficult to get quality sleep. But they got to bring items with them. Just like being a though hiker, there would be no excuse for not having a sleep system with you. Are you saying if you went on this show, you wouldn't bring a quality sleeping bag with you? You would be at an extreme disadvantage compared to those who did. This is a contest to see if you could outlast everyone else. If you were the only contestant nit to bring one, it is extremely unlikely that you would win. During the first week, you would be at the bottom for energy, and you would need more food(calories). You would end up needing to burn way more calories in building a shelter than the others. We see people destroy their chances of winning by spending way too many calories building at the beginning. You would be putting yourself in a situation where you need to spend a lot of calories in shelter building just to have a warm and dry place to sleep. Quality sleep is often overlooked by people who think it isn't important. It is extremely important. Setting yourself up to fail isn't a good strategy. As it gets colder, the need for sleep becomes even more important. Remember that you want to bring items that are the hardest to duplicate or take a lot of calories to overcome. Yes, you could survive without one, but you would be competing against 9 other contestants that would have one. Keeping a positive mental attitude is extremely difficult without quality sleep. You would wake up a lot, thinking a lot. Waiting for the morning. Do you really think in two weeks of sleeping in a bed completely source from found materials is going to compare with a warm and dry sleeping bag? You definitely would not win.

did you know that there''s a 60F degree difference between the outside temps and a good igloo, without any heat source besides your body? When there was more than one person in an igloo, the Innuit often had to go naked to keep from glazing over the inside walls of their shelter. Once that happened, they'd have to create a new igloo and often, the right kind of snow was not close or easy to find.
@m005kennedy
@m005kennedy 15 күн бұрын
If you are depending on snow structures to survive, you would go out early or get pulled out by the medical team. Most of your time on this contest will be spent without snow. You have to make it in the cold and wet quite a while.

No, your phone does not do this. Phone GPS are not as accurate as this. They appear to be because the software pins your signal to a nearby road. Take away the roads, and your phone is less accurate. These don't need cell service or the internet to work. Besides using GPS satellites more accurately than your phone, it communicates through the Iridium satellite system. That means it works as well in Haiti as it does in Maine. The satellite system has enormous worldwide service. Your phone doesn't. There can be a pretty hefty surcharge for using your phone in a different country. Plus, again, using Haiti as an example, they old cellphone network forces most visitors to buy a phone there. And it probably has pretty poor coverage of the country. With this, the only problem might be a satellite being blocked for a short time in a mountainous area. You can get these for $600. You might have paid more for your phone. If I was in a remote area where cell service was spotty or non-existent and I wanted to prepare for an emergency situation I would definitely want this instead of or in addition to a cell phone. This just a proven system that has been used world wide.

A lot of people don't. This is primarily an off-road or remote area device. Getting it to act like a car GPS turns it into a much simpler device. But...it communicates by satellite. It works where other devices don't. It has a rescue button that gets emergency services. A through hiker on youtube had a heart problem and pushed the botton and got rescued. She had the rescue insurance, so garmin paid $50K of the $60K rescue cost. The person using this is going to be in some remote area of the USA and Canada with little or no cell service. Also, I have heard people complain that cell phones are not very accurate if you want to do geocaching. But if you're in cell service range and just driving in populated areas you are right.

I wouldn't use this. I'd use two bricks and a disposable aluminum pan, like a small loaf pan, to heat water. Place the tea candles in a triangle shape like with this (or square if using four candles), but then put the two bricks on either side of the candle triangle. Don't start with a cold pan already filled with water, though! That will add a LOT of time to the heating time! Place the disposable loaf pan on top and let it start to heat then a couple minutes later start to add room temp water, pouring it in a slow stream so that it begins to heat as you're pouring it in. Then cover it with foil once the water is all in. It'll trap steam, helping to heat itself faster.
