Watching this now 32 years later as we’re 5 hours from the Huskies kicking off for an undisputed National Championship against Michigan. One last game against the Wolverines to win it all again, this time with no strings attached or caveats. I’ve waited my whole life for this team to win a Natty and I never thought we’d be this close. I am prejudice, of course, but in watching college football since the 1950's, I have never seen a better team than this. Miami of Florida was in a generational great series of seasons, but I think that the Huskies were better that year. I miss those great Miami teams, too. But, it is great seeing the Husky teams now approaching the grandeur of those past Don James teams.

@@googlemyself4091 Ok, you MUST know these things about me: I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Washington Huskies, Oregon Ducks, and Oregon State Beavers fan. Japanese-American. I HATE the Celtics, Lakers, Suns and Jazz. And, I hate the Michigan Wolverines. And, I hate the Kansas City Chiefs. THESE are why I love seeing Elvis Grbac face down on the ground. I BET that if I ask him to say bad things about the Japanese, he would have NO problem doing so. He and people of Michigan come across that way.
@unappealingundesirable28262 жыл бұрын
@@googlemyself4091 Another thing: I HATE Washington State, because of what they did to Oregon in 2003. I always hated the Arizona Wildcats and Bob and Mike Stoops, and I hate them even more because they injured Kellen Clemens of Oregon in 2006 or whatever year that was. And, Washington State literally injured the Oregon State quarterback, to the point where he had to have an ambulance take him off the field. I hate it when a team that I LIKE has an injury, but if it's a team that I hate, I LOVE seeing their quarterback get injured! Remember Al Davis? He said, "The quarterback must go down, and he must go down hard." So, I'm not the only one who thinks this way.

(To be fair, the BLACK people from Ohio are nice. As are many Whites from Ohio) I was SO shocked, to learn how many MEAN White people come from Ohio! Bob Knight, Bob Stoops, Mike Stoops, Jim Heerboogh, and Donald Korn. For those who DON'T know who Donald Korn is, look up Ruth Doench and Ethel Strayer. The POINT is, Donald Korn is from O----hio. Your Dad may be around my age, probably a bit younger: I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Japanese-American. My Dad told me about how Steve Emtman was so dominant, it took 2-3 opponents to ward him off, leaving easier paths for other defensive teammates. What both the 2013 Seahawks, and the 1991 Huskies have in common, are the dominant DEFENSES! During that 2013 Seahawks run, I kept thinking about the Huskies 1991 defense.

@@omegamanGXE Your Dad has a very vaild point! The Kingdome was notorious for its awful astroturf fields. Ken Griffey Jr suffered some injuries, playing on that turf. And, THAT'S how pathetic Seattle USED to be: At one point in MY life, the Sonics, Seahawks, and Mariners ALL played in the same stadium! (The Kingdome) Now, we have an embarrassment of riches, in terms of sports arenas in Seattle. My favorite George Maldauhu highlight, is on the first or second play of Washington's 54-0 win over Arizona in 1991, when Emtman broke through the line, and sacked Maldauhu, knocking him face down on the turf!
