I will admit.we, the guards, were young needed a job to feed our family.in San Diego 92 you had to be 21 at least.when I left in 2010 they were hiring 18 years old immature right out of highschool.i was 22 just out the marines and a new father.i needed a job asap. In 92 San Diego sheriff was offering 10$ an hour.12.5 hour shifts nights or days ( no overtime for hours after hour 8.) I was an infantry marine so I had a little discipline but I was totally intimidated when I walked in the jail on my first day.

For all the conservatives that vote for tuff on crime there is a liberal trying to set them free.so vote! I think the last time they had control of prisons were the 50s.the hippies of the 60s told the inmates they were a product of racism( hate the man, fight back).70s started the main prison gangs ARyan brotherhood Mexican Mafia nuestra familia and black guerilla family.i was there in the 90s California

None of the guards on duty were part of the Santa Fe 11?! Makes me think that the administration not only knew but arranged to ensure that none of the favored were harm. Might have been a way to get rid of the less desirable staff and clean out the the prisoners they viewed as trash.

WOW, EXCELLENT WORK!!! The fact that the warden, deputy warden & most of all, Gov. Bruce King, claimed that they had no clue that there was a threat of a prison riot is such bullshit. That Governor is a joke. He's a typical "good ole' boy" who's probably one of the most racist people you'll ever have the misfortune of meeting. You can tell he's quite sold on himself. He doesn't wanna take any responsibility for the riot or anything else that needed serious attention, but never got it. You can only play with people's emotions & make so many broken promises for so long & then they're gonna retaliate. Although I don't condone anything that went on in the riot, I can almost understand how a person would get to the point to where they wanna kill anyone & anything that's caused their pain & frustration in situations such as this one. But MY GOD.....what those inmates did to some of these other prisoners is BEYOND barbaric. I mean, the pictures that they did show were horrid, so I can only imagine what some of the worst guys looked like. Just hearing what these prisoners had done to their fellow prisoners & some of the guards is horrific enough - I can't imagine how bad the ones were that there WASN'T photos shown of!!!! RIP to the ones who passed on, due to the abuse and carnage done to them during this absolute nightmare. Lord, have mercy.

I believe he was writing about a murder of a girl that happened at the lake in the 70s or 80s not sure I believe was a rape n murder from what I was told from a guy who lives near the lake. Maybe he made it up I don't know but he is a older guy . Seemed sincere

Good day to you. 2 years ago I went there for my 60th birthday. It was definitely a hot day. It was over 100. The caves were extremely hot as well. But it was definitely a cool place to visit and I would definitely like to go back again in the cooler weather. This is Ted from Bulverde Texas. Thank you

I'm so excited to make it back to Vegas again sometime soon in my Highwayman (car from fallout 2) that I've been building. I totally choked up at the Strat, Hoover Dam, and Goodsprings when i got to visit for a week. I can't wait to go back and have a full fledged fallout adventure and go to some of the more niche locations that I didn't have time to get to while I was at class. Also, i was about to start making Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas references, but you got plenty in towards the end lol.

In IRL Highway man sounds awesome, cruising across the Mojave in that would've been the absolute cherry, I'd love to see that in person. I also of course had to pay respect to my other favorite insane story from Las Vegas

Marfa and Presidio County were never big oil centers. The population peaked in the early 1900s due to a silver mine, then declined when it closed. It rebounded in WWII where it was a training center. Far southwestern Texas has very little oil activity agriculture and cattle ranching have always been the dominant part of the economy.

Great video..I grew up on the north end of the lake and this video has taken me back to the late 70's when my buddies and I ran all over the lake in our first cars AKA [ Boats]. Hell's Gate is worth the drive just to see. When they built the dam to create the lake, it flooded an Indian village called Pic Wic and we were told that its been haunted ever since.
