Would anti trigger walk pins eliminate that?

I’ve been using the Tull 154 for about 5-6 years now. Haven’t had it bounce yet. Shoot a 230 at 150 yards in the shoulder and it’ll still go all the way through the other one. They don’t have very thick skulls. 22 or 17 can go through. Just admit it wasn’t perfect. I literally just shot a 200 Friday he was quartered. In neck out stomach just in front of back leg. Grazed his ear. Probably 25” worth, they don’t bounce. Maybe a 22 at that angle.

Idk what you’re looking for here. They have pretty thick skulls that are slanted. Nowhere did I state it was a perfectly perpendicular shot. I’ve shot tons of pigs with Tula 154gr. It’s a great round. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that it can bounce off a slanted surface. Tank rounds bounce off other slanted tanks. Doesn’t mean tank rounds aren’t good at penetrating

@@libertytree2538 yea I can see how if you caught one right on the edge it could deflect a little. I haven’t had it happen like this video but I guess it can. Especially when they stare you down you gotta be perfect center. I just guess I wouldn’t call it bounce. If you even get within 15-20 degrees of those sides I bet it would go right through. If I shoot one trapped I just use a 22 in the eye. Wait till there just barely turned.

@@libertytree2538 between eye and ear really. Goes through every time. They don’t really have a good flat spot so that’s why I like the eye socket quarter shot. If it’s a stare down I’ll just get closer and go between ears downward. I’ve cleaned plenty of skulls though with a hole in it and I just don’t think they are that thick. Jaw is pretty thick. Not those sides or the top though.

I'm having the same issue and plan to call Ruger on this week during business hours. What did they end up doing in order to rectify the issue?

lfml4960 I contacted Ruger customer service and they sent me a return form. I sent it back in it’s original box and got it back a week or so later working perfect. Rugers customer service is top notch

that was crazy. what length barrel are you using and where did the second shot land to drop it? i tested some of this 154 grain soft point and plan on using it for defensive ammo and its more accurate i have noticed

Garrett 7.62x39 it's a 16" Faxon barrel. 2nd shot was right at the base of the ear. I've tried Hornady SST, federal fusion, and Tula 154gr SP's on hogs. I prefer the 154gr. When you hit them at the base of the ear you can use any round, but in a big group when you're just trying to shoot shoulder or forward, the 154's stand out.

LibertyTree sounds great thanks man I have tried the sst and the 123 grain tula and wolf soft points but none do as good expansion wise compared to 154 grain

I been using the Tull 154 for about 5-6 years now in a ruger ranch. Fantastic combo. It’ll go all the way through a 230lb shoulder to shoulder at 150 yards. I usually try the behind eye bellow ear spot. Works perfect every time.

Or quartered in the neck. Usually still comes out the ribs.
