This is a Whitney style square hole cutter, used them for 20+ years at Pattin Manufacturing, 1980s, making does for 1-1/8" square heading does for mine bolts. Procedure; Drill 1-1/8" round hole in die blank, floating chuck and 3 flute square drill, with 1-1/8 hardened template to guide square drill to through die. Radius in corners larger then bolt spec. Shave corners with 1.125" square on manual broach press. Plug at back of die controls head height, as well as stencils bolt length", material dia./strength, manufacturer code. Heattreated A2 and h13 in our own electric oven. All of my machinist have passed, but the new kid, shop foreman learned from the old guys, how do squares and hex shaped dies, before learning EDM and machining center tooling.

I had a "Spirograph" and I had a "Super Spirograph too! Source: I was 10 in 1970. The really tricky stuff was them giant designs you could make using the _external part of them two rings. Like doing an outside loop with an airplane and about as difficult.

Okay, so you used boxes to separate the positions of a Mayan number's digits. But how did the Mayans do it without the boxes? I mean that without the boxes, 6 and 21 would look very similar if you'd write down Mayan numbers from bottom to top.

What distance did Eratosthenes say the earth was from the sun?
@marcg1686
@marcg1686 Ай бұрын
He didn't. He assumed that Sun's rays arrived on Earth parallel.
@truthbetold818
@truthbetold818 Ай бұрын
@@marcg1686 So his science was based on an assumption? So, basically, Eratosthenes was saying, "If (emphasis on the "if") the sun's rays arrived parallel, then the sun would be distant and not local, so we can deduce the earth to be a globe by the casting of the shadows"
@marcg1686
@marcg1686 Ай бұрын
@@truthbetold818 At the time that Eratosthenes conducted his measurement, it was assumed that the Earth is a globe, and with good reason. Ships disappearing bottom first over the visible horizon and the observation that the Sun and the Moon are spherical in shape. It was entirely reasonable to assume that Earth too is a sphere.

😄 Terrence, the flerther gronk at Flat Out Truth, _really_ needs to see this. Now I think about it, he's a bit (totally) paranoid about maths, accuracy, science, logic, evidence, reasoning, objectivity - in fact, anything with details.... 🙄 Yeah, so he may well find this video's content quite intimidating. 😬

Eratosthenes also interpreted petrified seashells in the Libyan desert in that way that there must have been a sea in its place somewhere in the past.

Your designer was lazy, or you were un-informed, that the dots above a 'line' are always placed and re-arranged when added to, in accordance with practical 'balance'. (Think stones over a bar - forming a see-saw) Stones are placed to always remain balance. Ex. 1Stone= Center, 2= Opposite ends, 3= Opposite ends + one in the center, 4= Opposite ends, with two equally spaced in the middle. *Not from Left to Right
