Somehow I have been scared of any animal that could kill me since I was little. Never got over it.

I used around fly out of the Palm Beach area. And it always struck me how you would have these vast densely populated areas that would all of a sudden end at swamp. There was no gradual move from densely populated to sparsely populated then swamp. It was just densely populated, then *boom* swamp.

There are a lot of Canadians in Florida, but I think it's a bobcat, not a lynx.

Most people dont live anywhere near these type of areas of Florida. Theres an abandoned golf course that is overgrown in my neighborhood and apparently there are roaming Coyotee's that can be heard howling at night. I would love to go camping and take a kayak for a night stroll somwwhere like this.

All fun and games until the hurricanes come, then they cry foul and say they've been victimized. You have to weigh the good with the bad, know many that got tired of rebuilding their houses every few years and decided Florida wasn't worth it.

No that was a real bobcat. There is a story of a Florida man who had to kill a bobcat with his bare hands after it attacked him. It had rabies. (2007)

FLA is a fascinating place for wildlife and wild-ish places. Not many gators up here in Michigan.

You're not in Canada, anymore. The Lynx is a northern animal; I don't think they get that far south. That must have been a male bobcat, because I've seen dozens of Florida Bobcats on Tim Harrel's trail cam channel, but they didn't have that big head. Tim has some phenomenal photography of Florida wildlife and some while orchids. Thanks for sharing that!

Well...some may be happy you've made it, but the locals hate you. Not you specifically, but people who moved here that has made traffic worse, has made restaurants worse, and you act like you belong here.
