I like how it's called HOSTILES, not HOSTILE; From the point of view of that one HECU marine, with how efficiently they were all slaughtered, he probably genuinely thought they were under attack from several people at once, only to realize that ONE GUY just dismantled an entire squad of highly trained marines like they were a bunch of wannabee LARPers.

This really begs the question of how dangerous Gordon Freeman is. He was a great scientist with at minimum basic small firearms skills if the tutorial is to be considered. And yet he was able to face down the forces of Xen, the HECU and the Black Ops. Sure he had his suit which is also pretty damn crazy when you think on it and he is very intelligent, but still outnumbered, facing aliens, highly trained soldiers, and fighting agaisbt the odds makes him utterly insane. Plus he goes to Xen, faces what is pretty much and Edritch God, as well as all the alien madness in a place like Xen, and survived. Aside from the damage to his suit we see in Half Life: Alyx he doesn't look like he was even really injured. A Theoretical Physicist who became a nightmare to everyone who faces him. No wonder G-Man "offered" him a job with his employers. And it is even more crazy when you realize the events of Half Life and Half Life 2 and the Episodes take place maybe around a week or a little more then that cause Stasis. One moment he was fighting aliens and the military, the bext he finds himself on a conquered Earth and no sooner is he on the run and slaughtering hundreds of Combine. Not to mention he is only 27 years old excluding stasis .

The sound design is truly spectacular in this. The echo and reverb from the first grenade was so eerily realistic. The camera work is great too. And the screams, man, as much as I dislike HECU's actions they're still humans.

Man, the animation is nice, but there are 2 things I don't understand. First, why did the soldier who tried to remove that headcrab from the victim's head die? Secondly, I wonder why the claws and chest of the soldier turned into a zombie by that Headcrab were not revealed.
