13:20. This is my job application. I'm a fan and ancient subscriber. Also, I'm 59, educated beyond Master's level, employed for the last twenty years of my working life as an SME company director (market research/data collection), private pension-less, and redundant since January 2020. I have been unsuccessful in 100s of job applications. Thank you. At levels from Operations Director to Volunteer Gardener. I thank you. My services in the podcast equivalent of "copy editor" might be of use. Or I could make the tea, if you like. Part time. In costume. For minimum wage. If you don't fancy me, and I can't imagine why you wouldn't, please do at least consider your Macmillan advertisement in today's pod (20:20). The basics from Fowler or Strunk and White would have put you straight. "I think we really underestimate how easy it is to organize a coffee morning." 14:13, after listening again, my head spinning, I'm twice as fed up with you. Even if the sign off was theirs, you should have intervened to help.

One of my all-time fave pod moments 🤣😍: Barry's Carabao Cup insight (sic) briskly put under the cosh by Lucy (with Lucy possibly feeding off the historical glory of Barry's tremendous Ramos whereaboutery passim), then Barry's penetrating kestrel-like descent interrogating Lucy, her joyful submission to Bazzer's exposé, Max's killer summation, only to have the final brutal rejoinder by Lucy. Chef's kiss to all involved (with obvious apologies to Barry who would never indulge in such a crass gesture 👨🍳😘) Glorious

I must admit to being extremely puzzled to the point of paranoia when I couldn’t find Villa among the Carabao fixtures this week. So not just Barry!

😂😂😂😂 Respect for the dead and all, but Sven was a terrible manager for England. The fact that they needed the Beckham Greece goal is a testament to this. Also, that was a bad German team; people forget how tame their side of the 2002 WC was.

£40m is the old £20m so he isn’t going to be a Ollie Watkin or Kane, if he gets 10-12 goals that’s not a bad return. Touch is hopefully better than Andy Keogh’s description of Usain Bolt: “touch like a trampoline” 😂

The fit may be a possible and unfortunately a loss of Gabriel or Saliba, if there’s an offer they can’t turn down or their contracts run out

I think they’ve seen how quickly he’s developed into that centre-back position that they might have thought, if we can get him now before he fully settles there, we can do a Ben white and make him into the left-back we want. Just a theory

I’ve been a Chelsea fan for 50 years, but I loathe what the club has become. It’s soul has been ripped out and sold off by a bunch of Wall St. wide boys.

Chelsea had been overspending for years. The Abramovich era created an aura of a superpower. The superpower was the owner who opened his chequebook at a time when inflated fees existed. They overpaid for many a player. A major player in adding to an overinflated market now subject to restrictions, regulations, and financial penalties brought on by their own club. For all the money they've had minimal success from youth development. That's a fair asassessment imo
@NJTRAFАй бұрын
The reason they’re selling him and the other home grown players is to balance the books. That’s pretty much the main reason, in my opinion. Sell Gallagher for £33m and it’s essentially £33m profit on the books as they didn’t pay a transfer fee for him. Same with Trevoh Chalobah, if Transfermarkt’s valuation is reasonably accurate then if they sell him for around £20m then again, it’s all profit and the easiest way to balance the books after spending so much money on players is to sell home grown players where you’re gaining 100% profit rather than 10%-50% at most

I’m sorry but if the glazers weren’t so careless with the clubs money then they wouldn’t be in this situation right now
@isaacmills7985Ай бұрын
Don't think that makes sense because if it is what the glazers want why did they do all of it in the first place, Radcliff is changing what the glazers put in place

Potter and Pochettino really are the two best candidates. We wanna play elite, we gotta be elite. No head clouds stuff with Guardiola, and all respect to Carsley, great youth coach, but the whole point of moving from Southgate was to level up managers.
