It was nice to put faces to the people I hear on the ECR. Everyday even though I don’t have my ticket yet I still listen everyday for the last few years. 73’s to you all ☕️

I monitor the local ECR repeater. I have no interest in becoming Ham. I listen for fun.

No no no, feed the large loop with ladder line to a balanced tuner. The more wavelengths it is the angle of radiation drops. I use a 560 ft loop 600 ohm LL and use it on all HF bands. It's not a compromise it is a performer. I enjoy getting on the reflector, keep up the good work ki4ytv Special Ed

So I just took my technician license test last night and passed it. I have been listening to local nets and repertors for a couple of months now. The other day I was running a little later than normal to work and one of the repertors was connected to the ECR for the morning brew net witch I found to be pretty cool. I didn't get to listen long as I ran out of range but it made me asked a lot of questions so the ECR is always on and running and not just for nets ? And is there a lot of traffic on there most of the time?

Great video very helpful, a quick question can you configure the node to boot straight into a reflector of choice?

After several days of searching for Allstar setup information, you're presentation was timely and perfect. After watching twice and taking copious notes I was up and running. Getting DVSwitch mobile app to connect to Allstar from inside and outside the lan was another question that I solved. No DVSwitch server involved. This got the node up and running but didn't see any reference to connecting and using a radio and only a brief reference to Echolink with "maybe" another video for that setup. Then, of course, DVSwitch server setup and implementation with AllStarLink and crossmode abilities.. Info on the web is either outdated, fragmented or hacked about.. There's lots of hunt and peck to get things done. Your presentation gets to the point and gets it done. Thank you. KD6WQK

supermon2 has the same IP info just under the system button when you have logged in. and you can make Supermon centered it does not always have to be left justified.

Pres when you log into supermon and hit the enter key and the commands do not show up. you do not need to log in again. just refresh your screen. they will show up with no problem.

But the slim Jim does work. Maybe not as well as Ed’s but it’s does get out. The N9TAX slim Jim has sold 1000’s. Saying they don’t work is a bit of a misnomer. I own both and use both.

today, 8/10/22 listening with rtl-sdr and pizza pan antenna a ham group using a morning brew format from Cherokee Iowa, a group that has been around forever. A distance of over 1,000 miles from my home. How do i figure out where to send them a post-card to let them know i heard them from my location with such a ridiculously tiny set up like mine? Within half an hour the signal degraded; however i did hear them say they were a Christian Ham group, among other things they were sharing Bible verses and a web address that got lost in the changing weather ceiling. any insight would be appreciated.

some type of competition is being advertise on frequency 10,000,023...(6/22/22 @3am EST) from time to time they blast the ionosphere with A powerful signal that sound right out of a sci-fi movie... using rtl-sdr and pizza pan ant. so it is hard to get a clear strong signal

so today 5/20/22 got on my SDR and pizza pan antenna. pick up a ham radio in Gainsville Fl. 10:30am. It was the Emergency Medical Services Week. the Host was a guy name Bob, (73 y/o)N4EQRZ. Other folks from neighboring states calling back and giving each other signal reports. I am situated over 1000 miles away, so this was a pleasant surprise. Sadly SDR does not transmit, thus no way to report his signal SNR @30 Very clear strong signal i heard emergency so i stopped to listen, only to realize it was just a test and a simply yearly get together for all the EMS folks. RTL-SDR radio setting USB - 14.328.000 MHz

the smell of sundown; back in the day, (early 60's) the sun would be setting way too soon stirring up a gentle breeze; the old incandescent street lights snapping on dew scenting the grassy lawns worms erupting out of the soil to release their castings, tuxedoed cricket emerge from hiding to serenade the night with their hypnotic soothing stridulations. Parents on the porch signaling their good nights while us kids rushing to create master plans for the next day before heading in for the night for an hours or so of tv before sleep.
