Didn't like this movie at all. How can you feel sorry for someone who lies to everyone and says they're dying of cancer. Outrageous! The actor Dan Byrd wasn't good either. HAROLD AND MAUDE was a lot better.

I disagree with you. I like this film but I do agree of what you said about he lies of cancer was awful. I think honestly he was trying to shut his best friend up when his friend was bitching at him in the car but it went out of control when the friend say it and the girl overheard them. I think he wanted to tell her but he felt the love and care ness from the girl and decided to go along with it but I agree he shouldn’t have done that. Outrageous.

I need to watch this movie at some point. It looks so laughably fucking awful. I saw the trailer so many years ago and it's just left an impression similar to stepping in puddle of urine in a high school bathroom.

I am french and our vision of life is everything but bleak ! this director obviously never been in Paris or anywhere else in France haha I mean even in litterature or poetry, germans and english authors, like romantics, are way more desesperate than us.. Is it what americans are thinking about french people really? I'm kind of confused

i just dont get why they keep telling us ALL THE STORY IN THE TRAILER. so this is it: a smart, profound sensitive kid, love, girl, bad time: dad, going to die, she or the love changes him. it ends with him being a new man, maybe not with her anymore, but he change.
