We initially had the issue where the rinse aid would not fill-up the compartment and some liquid would leak onto the inside of the door. This was on a brand-new dishwasher. It turns out that there is a reservoir underneath the rinse-aid compartment (inside the door) which holds the rinse aid. Thus, the rinse-aid compartment will only fill-up to the max level once this reservoir is full. The second observation is that, unless you squirt the rinse aid directly into the bottom section of the compartment, then excess rinse aid will dribble onto the inside of the door -- not because the reservoir is full, but because you are not being careful enough (go slowly and strategically squirt the rinse aid only into the bottom of the compartment). It is helpful to look at the KZbin video on 'Bosch Dishwasher Replace Detergent Dispenser #490467' to see what the reservoir looks like.

I see I'm not the only one...I way overpaid for this dishwasher because it was the only model in stock. You CAN'T LOAD THIS THING! If I ever have a dinner party, I'm screwed. Terrible design. You can't hear it run, but I'll have to load it three times to get a place setting of 4 people in the thing. Unbelievable.

I noticed that the red light indicates it’s on and running. If there is a power outage, it will not show the light and once power is back on, it will continue to run its cycle from the point where it was interrupted.

I got my new 500 series as we had a Bosch before and had a great experience with it. This unit has been nothing but a headache since the purchase. Install wait time was longer than advertised (Home Depot, not a Bosch issue), and once installed we were dismayed to discover that the unit would not work after being installed. The install tech ran the unit through a short test cycle after installing and left the home immediately after starting the unit. I was unable to close the door or change the cycle the first time I went to use the unit. After a 20 plus minute hold for Bosch customer service, the rep. spent over 20 minutes on the phone trying to diagnose why the unit would not change cycles and why the door would not close. We finally got the door to shut so we ran the unit on the heavy cycle which it was set for. I was told not to open the door since we had such a difficult time getting it to shut and that it probably was due to the latch needing to run through a cycle to reset. The second time (two days later) I went to use the unit the door would not close and again unable change cycle type. Again, a prolonged hold time for customer service and this time we were unable to get the door to close. She sent via email a service contractor for me to contact to have the door issue resolved. Again, 5 days wait for a tech to come and resolve the issue. He stated that the frame to the unit was bent preventing the door from closing. After manually bending the frame he managed to get the door to close and latch. When asked, he too was unable to get the unit to change cycle setting. He said that he would check back the following day to see if the unit would change cycle settings after running a cycle. The video did not help on my cycle issues, and still waiting for a tech to help get this unit to change cycles.... Bosch apparently does not want to replace the unit as I would expect per their warranty. Had the unit for 3 weeks and have only run 3 cycles with dishes along with the two test cycles. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER.

The rack design of this dishwasher is absolutely preposterous. Loading should be intuitive and straightforward - this is not. Even the video is convoluted and dragged-out. Why could I not have simply looked at a couple of schematics to understand the general loading pattern? This entire dishwasher seems to have been designed by an algorithm and had zero human feedback.

Very unhappy with our 2023 top model Bosch dishwasher. Unfortunately our kitchenaid failed after 7 years. Although tech the same size, this dishwashers configuration is not designed well and I can fit less dishes in at a time. But what I dislike the most is that I cannot set/use the delayed timer without using the app. Ridiculous to have a wifi dishwasher unless it can load itself. Zero purpose to this. Second biggest issue is the dishes are never fully dry despite this claim of the "Air dry" feature. In my experience it only makes the dishes stay more wet. Sadly this was the best option of what's now available in dishwashers.

This Appliance is too smart for its own good I just installed it and I cannot even get it to run a simple quick start. What happened to the dishwasher being a dishwasher turn it on, load it, run it! It's not that hard but apparently it is😢. It's so convoluted I can't get it to run a simple load!

Whatever you do - read the manual. My oven got ruin by a small piece of aluminum foil placed on the bottom of the oven. They should state inside the drawer and embossed in the oven - NO ALUMINUM FOIL. It ruined my oven and was only a little bit used for a short time. I had to replace the oven. I had no idea though they claim it is stated in the manual. They need to POST IT ON THE OVEN somewhere. Not every guest in your home is going to READ the manual. It caused the enamal to flake off and fly around in the oven. Afraid we ingested some of it before we realized. There is a warning not to use certain products on your stove top - read up.

Lol damn, most of my dishes don’t fit well into my Bosch. Same with my parents, but they just throw their stuff in Willy Nilly. I feel like a lot of plates aren’t getting cleaned due to the spacing of the rack. Bowls and cups barely fit in the top shelf together

I can’t seem to get the remote “schedule” to work on Home Connect. I set the schedule and nothing happens when the time comes. I have to start it myself thru the app when I’m not around. I do love the dishwasher tho. It’s so versatile and cleans most efficiently.

sadly this doesn’t work anymore as my brand new bosch 800 series has buried the delay start and rinse functions in the app. this is so frustrating - useful functions like delay start should never be relegated to “app only” (it’s not like there’s a lack of space for more buttons)

Bosch is absolutely terrible quality. I have all brand new Bosch appliances and they all suck! My microwave broke down within a few months and they painted games replacing it and now say it's too late, even though they were the ones to dragged it out. My dishy never cleans or dries and it errors codes constantly. It can take 4 attempts to get it to do a load. Xmy oven takes forever to get to temperature and it's always smoky as the fan doesn't work. I was warned not to buy Bosch and I would never buy anything from Bosch again.

Bosch appliances are absolute garbage. Their warranties suck and they don't care about their customers. They play games and ignore them until they can claim it's too late to do anything. My oven takes forever to come to temperature and it's always smoky, my microwave broke within months of getting it and the dishwasher constantly errors and stops and doesn't get the dishes clean or dry. I was warned not to buy Bosch products.

My expensive 800 series SHP78CM5N/22 was installed yesterday. The installer turned on the dishwasher (normal cycle and without dishes) to make sure that it was working properly and it seemed to do so. 2 hours later, it seemed to be done. When I opened the dishwasher door this morning, the inside was sopping wet-not just a few droplets, but sopping wet. I didn't clean it up-just went about my day. It's 5:00pm now and just opened the door again to put dishes in the dishwasher and the inside is still sopping wet. My old, relatively inexpensive Whirlpool actually dried the dishes without having to turn on a dryer button. I would expect this very expensive dishwasher to perform better than the old Whirlpool. Very much regretting my decision to buy this expensive dishwasher now.

This is an energy-efficient, closed-drying system that does not pull in outside air or use an exposed heating element. This process works by heating the dishes with hot water during the final rinse. The cooler stainless steel pulls moisture from the dishes. The inside of the unit will be wet at the end of the cycle, but the dishes should be dry. It's important to note that plastics don’t retain heat as well as other dishware materials and don’t dry as well. To improve drying results, we recommend turning on the Intensive Drying feature. @@BoschHomeAppliancesUSA I ran the dishwasher again last night on Auto and then selected BOTH Sanitize and Crystal Dry. (I don't have anything called "Intensive Drying"). I had to hand towel all of the dishes this morning. Our old Whirlpool got the dishes dry without even selecting the Dry function. And BTW, when I lightly touched the Sanitize and Crystal Dry (per instructions), a little light appeared, but then quickly went off, so I had no idea if it actually selected those features. There is no way to tell. We paid nearly $1600 for this dishwasher and our old, less expensive Whirlpool was MUCH better. Bought the dishwasher at Lowe's and a technician is coming out. I'm considering replacing this with another, more reliable dishwasher and probably not Bosch. We love our Bosch fridge, but this dishwasher is horrible and not at all worth the high price!

I have to agree with jd! Worst god damn dishwasher I have ever owned and I'm 67. On AVERAGE 1/3 of dishes do not get clean, regardless of how or where they are positioned...after six month of practice you can still count on rewashing 1/3! Second, NOTHING fits! There are too many tines, all going different directs, all slanted and too close together. Seriously, after paying a grand, my wife wants it out and back to our old $400 Whirlpool. The Whirlpool Quiet Partner out performs, easier to load, etc. Tines are all vertical and in simple rows and widely spaced...makes it a breeze to load. ONLY advantage, it is quiet...I've heard that if you buy one your eligible to get a "SAP" tattoo across your forehead!

Sir, thank you for the reply; I have contacted the 'Mother Ship' and they already sent me all the video links. I have tried every imaginable arrangement, big on bottom, big on top, side ways, middle, corners...almost everything on bottom gets clean, 1/2 of middle gets clean, 1/2 of top gets clean. The design of the tines is flawed and showing pictures of loading PERFECT dishes is not realistic. I recommend sticking to washers and dryers and leaving the dishwashers to Whirlpool!@@BoschHomeAppliancesUSA
