If you think about the most important part of your video it is the interaction with the FreeCAD software. Looking at your video the items you are selecting and manipulating in the menus and project tree are tiny and you go really fast. It is useful information but presentation could be improved a lot.

I agree. There's a special place in h*ll for people that make instructional vids using personalized layouts instead of default, hotkeys and move hyper quick without ever saying what they are actually clicking. My screens do not match his, I can't find half the things he's clicked (further complicated that some buttons have been renamed, not his fault), this vid should be all my answers but I'm stuck 3 minutes into it, had to leave to watch 3 other vids to fill in gaps and now that I'm back here, I'm stuck again 5 seconds later.

The G Code is always in millimeters, even though everything (as far as I know) is set to standard inch. I've tried every "fix" I can find online, and it still comes out mm instead of inch.

Interesting overview of this great little trim router. I've owned both the corded and cordless version for a good number of years. I never used the edge guide that came with it, as I upgraded to the micro-adjustable version. I've never found the on/off switch location to be an issue - I always unplug the unit for adjustments or cutter changing - and, although it has never occurred, it is possible. The weak spot, in my opinion, is definitely the locking lever: it does tend to drift, and once or twice has just released. Fortunately, I don't use the plunge base that often. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with this tool.

Hello, I liked your video and I subscribed. I have been doing CNC machining for more than 20 years. I believe your part would have been perfect if you reversed the machining order, I E work from the center to the perimeter. That way the part would be held very well until the very end. I have a suggestion for another video. I have not been able to find a video on cutting templates. I E cutting a thin piece of stock say 2 or 3mm thick. These would be cut in one pass , inside cuts first. I think it would be a popular video as there are a lot of uses for that kind of cutting. Model airplanes, boats, jewelry boxes etc.....This kind of machining is so useful. Thanks for your time !!

Hi I would, but I have less time but will add this to my todo list. It´s pretty straight forward, the most important is that the plades afterwards are at the same height. There shall be some video out, for this or other consumer planers.

Very good video to learn and apply the processes in "Path". In practice, the problem of clamping the workpiece and the sequence of machining would arise. Ok, I see - material is plywood an for fixing you use double-sided tape 🙂

Check /:58 Edge milling base, can be reused for a router table. You don´t have to by a router table plate or lift. Just use the base and a whole in some plywood - minimal aproach ;-) , but works.

Hi, I'm watching your videos almost 3 years later and I'm sure you already have more practice on FreeCAD. It's a wonderfull software. I'm also using it for modeling customized parts for anything I need and 3D print them with an Artellery X1 or a Genius printers. As you've mentioned the best way for the metal insert attachement shoul be a threaded hole. The holes become always narrowed than we intend after printing them and a small touch up is required. The only note I can express is that you can alter the printed parts to allow to get the right angle for sharpening the chisel... but you should modify the bar next to the grinder. Thanks for your effort on making the video and show your work, editing videos is a terrible task. Cheers from Portugal
