This is an incredibly engaging and informative video! Especially when you're out there looking to enjoy yourself in Thailand and knowing the right language to talk in bedroom ;) Currently I am making good use of Ling and Pocket Thai Master apps to fully grasp the Thai language. They're fantastic language learning apps and perfect for anyone looking to master a new language at their own pace. If you want to impress a lady with your Thai knowledge, I fully recommend those apps 555 Also don't mind the haters, Shelby! You're doing a great job!

To my knowledge, for translation of 'bring’, the combination เอา…มา is used for objects and พา…มา for people. Therefore, shouldn't the sentence “I'll bring my brother to help.” be translated as เดี๋ยวพาน้องมาช่วยทำ?
@LearnThaiwithShelby13 күн бұрын
เดี๋ยวพาน้องมาช่วยทำ & เดี๋ยวเอาน้องมาช่วยทำ mean the same thing. The example is shown เอา means พา in this context.

ไม่เอาจริงกับการใช้ถุง ไม่เอาจริงกับการห้ามถุง I mean, there is a big difference between 'using' and 'banning' something. Why do you translate การใช้ with 'banning'?
@LearnThaiwithShelby16 күн бұрын
ห้าม always followed by a verb ใช้ถุง = literal translation is to use but in this context it means BAN. You can say ห้ามใช้ถุง but there is เอาจริง in this sentence already so, adding ห้ามใช้ again is unnecessary and doesn’t sound natural.

@@LearnThaiwithShelbyOK, thanks
@DirkMeier31316 күн бұрын
เอาจริงๆนะ, I thought about this again, and now I think that your sentence (พวกเขา) ไม่เอาจริงกับการใช้ถุงพลาสติก literally means ‘They are not strict with (the people) keeping on using plastic bags’. Not: ‘They are not strict with banning the use for other people or the people in general’. And in the case it would mean that they are not strictly banning it (and are consequently not being strict with their own actions, as opposed to ‘not being strict with the actions of other people / the people’). Sorry, I didn’t use the word ใช้ after ห้าม / การห้าม, but this doesn’t change my point, does it? If you get รัฐบาลไม่เอาจริงกับการห้ามใช้ถุงพลาสติก, would that be OK? I mean, here, we would talk explicitly about the ban, and not get that meaning by inference / implication.

Could you make a video about pain? Such as when the back of your neck is in a lot of pain after driving a motorcycle for 9 hours, when the front of your neck is in pain, before a cold comes. Being sore after exercise. Sitting for a long period of time and your leg is losing blood circulation (for example). Sprains, Breaks, Swelling, Muscle tears. The difference between ความเจ็บและความปวด would be great too.

Yes - If you translate word for word 😉 but no, not the meaning I’m talking about
It's confusing how in Thai ฝา is used for both lid and door in this case. If it is a top load washer, I'd use lid. If front load washer, I'd use door. T.I.T. ๕๕๕
