I've checked my year-end list more than twice - it keeps getting longer! The big item I have added this year from past years is to create a social media schedule. Rather than asking myself on a given day what I'm going to post, I have to imagine it will benefit me to have a schedule that tells me in advance. It also gives me a chance to be deliberate about what and when I want to post. Hoping I can stick to the schedule I put together!

I've been discouraged from wearing a kilt to work. I can understand why it may hurt my productivity in a sales role, but they even have issues with it at non-client-facing functions. Just feels wrong.

Hi, Matt! I recommend you speak to an employment lawyer in the jurisdiction where you work. Laws vary among jurisdictions. Also, there can sometimes be a legitimate business reason for the restriction (e.g., safety). But if, for example, women in the same role as you can wear skirts of similar length or style to kilts, your employer could be unlawfully discriminating. It’s probably worth a legal consultation, especially if this is important to you.

The solution to the largest employer problem is to pay people fairly and equitably. But they don't.

The reality is that people do not want to be exploited. All employers want are vulnerable, gullible, and exloitative people who they can pay as little as possible. If an employer isn't greedy and apathetic, they will pay their workers fairly. In such a case, people would love to work for them. But most employers are a-holes with statistically higher levels of psychopathy.

I heard about making tea with this plant. My family grows this plant, i have always heard that it helps fight cancer. Or something similar to that effect. Im wondering if you can eat the leaves raw, fresh off the plant. It seems like a more natural way to ingest plant medicine. I guess my question is if eating fresh leaves of yerba mansa will be more effective in receiving the medicinal benefits?

Yes, I have known of people eating the leaves fresh. Or you can make a tea with it and drink a glass a day for beneficial health reasons. It will also heal cuts faster than any doctor or antibiotic. Put the leaves in hot water for five minutes and lay the leaves on the open wound and wrap with a gauze for five days changing it daily and you will see the difference in the healing process.

This is such an important series Nance, thank you for doing it! One of the takeaway's for me is that we can't always see our own internalized biases, even when we're earnestly trying to act in the best interests of our staffs. Sometimes our "blind spots" can derail our best intentions, and I know this is something you help your clients with all the time🙂
