you can use distilled water for sure, although it is not required. The mineral content of water around the world is different and along with personal preference will play into finding the best mixture for you.

Frustrating video- the music, the idea that it is not science, etc. Give customers a chance to succeed by making it doable right from the box. Maybe include a syringe?

Just wrapped my Orbea Rise (first time wrapper). I think I came up with a new Pro-Tip… There are areas on the wrap sheet that are waste(unused). Cut out the good size piece. Use this piece to test your slip mix solution and adjust slippiness as needed.

Hello future buyer, I will share with you my bad experience with RIDEWRAP frame protectors. I bought a custom kit for my brand new road bike. I saw all the pose explanation videos but despite that the result was catastrophic!! A horror, bubbles everywhere, traces.. I tried everything, did everything to prevent this from happening but it was impossible. As a result, I had to throw everything away and lost €210. RIDEWRAP's response was, you didn't install it correctly so it's your fault!! I promise you that I really did everything perfectly, that I took the necessary time (more than 6 hours) and that I tried everything to prevent this from happening. I wanted to share with you my bad experience with Ridewrap!!

Yes - however success can vary and it may not be economical. ensure the piece is clean clean clean, apply a new adhesive primer and adhesive - low surface energy adhesives are important.

That's a very common pitfall with so many KZbin videos, where spoken instructions are the core of the video. Yes, it gives a certain vibe, but if the instructions are the main thing, just silence the background music in that part of the video and keep it for the intro and transitional parts.

On my third frame I found the perfect mix to be 3 glops (that’s what I call what comes out of the crappy packet) in 700ml of distilled water to be perfection. It does need a little heat to get the hard edges down but makes getting bubbles out super easy.

Hey Peter, the slip solution mix is definitely a 'personal preference' thing. Some people like a quicker adhesive, some a slower. Each method has its pros and cons -- we always suggest testing the mix based on how you are finding the install. And just to touch on it -- we did measure 2-4 drops to be about 0.5ml. However 'drops' are an open ended measurement unit, so when in doubt use 0.5ml, personally, I use 0.6ml and a little syringe to measure to get my perfect solution.

@@RideWrap my packet was cold as house was cold and measured 3.5 drops. It seems to be working well, small pieces slide around but not too much. Larger pieces allowing lift too with moderate force but then stick down well. I have the fan heater on to make the frame and ambient temp around just warm of room temperature and helps a lot. For a large bubble (4-5mm) on one of my first laid pieces can I pierce it and heal using a heat gun carefully from afar? Or just leave it, luckily it's on the inner edge of the bike and the wheel will largely distract from vision. I have the fork kit and not sure to remove the stock stickers with heat and put them on top of the wrap (I got matte for the domain forks). Cheers

@@peterwood2633 If anyone needs full support, just know that our customer service is here for you and will be quicker than any social platform. - Heat will not 'heal' a pierced or cut film. Bubbles with solution in them will dry out a little while after install, thats what we would recommend as opposed to bringing sharp objects to your bike. - If you remove the stock fork stickers you will not get them off in a clean way to re-apply. Recommend protecting on top (will have some ghosting around sticker edge), OR peel em and check out Slik Graphics for new ones on top (maybe even in a different color)

Slip solution is very user subjective, you can test using a single bottle and just change as you go. We include a syringe as of summer '23.

If you gave us the slip solution in a proper dropper bottle (think eye drops) then it would be much easier to get the right amount of slip solution.

Isopropyl alcohol isn't mentioned by anyone as a replacement for slip solution.. It's mentioned as a way to neutralize slip solution so edges are easier to stick down.

We would consider using iso as a more pro method... it can also cause damage to the adhesives if not used correctly. As reference, none of our installers at our own facilities use iso. Simply their 'perfect' solution and heat if needed.

Thanks for the helpful video. Some adjustable heat guns can get incredibly hot--up to 1200 degrees F! In your video you don't mention a specific temperature that the heat gun should be set to, so what would be a good range to make sure that the heat gun stays in while removing the Ride Wrap?

They recommend keeping your hand behind the panel that has the piece being removed, as can be seen in the film. If it’s too hot on your hand lower the temp and or move the heat gun back.

It can, however it is important to note that you may get a bit of 'ghosting' around the edge of the decal, this can be minimized with a bit of heat during and a few days after install (once it is fully dry). For the best look we recommend adding decals after protection install from a supplier like Slik Graphics.

First, thank you for putting together this video (and the others). It is helpful but I do have a question and suggestion Are you stating that roughly 2-4 “drops” of solution will 0.5 ML in a syringe when drawn up? This is confusing as technically, per google, there are 10 drops in .5 ml (or 0.05 ml per drop). I suspect the difference is because your described slip-solution individual drop (estimated as the size that would cover the surface area of a dime or the finger nail on your pinky finger) is actually much larger in volume than the universal standard single drop ml equivalent of 0.05 ml It would be great if you could take that slip solution “drop” and quantify in terms of ML (I suspect it’s around 0.1-0.2 ml). Then I would have more faith/trust in using the syringe approach. Sorry to be a math geek here and I know as a result I’d be shunned if ever we met, but I’m concerned I’m going to really screw up the solution proportions if using a syringe to draw up starting amounts although the syringe method seems a better, less sloppy/wasteful technique if accurate

Default to syringe method, we have now started to include these. As well - slip solution is not something to screw up, you can run a weaker or stronger mix depending on preferences. We always suggest tweaking as you go based on the experience you are having ---> sticking too fast and many bubbles then add soap concentrate, troubles with the edges staying down then dilute with water (or flush the edges with water from a second spray bottle).
