A magnet will tell you what is non-ferrous and ferrous. A metal file helps also.

Copper, brass, and aluminum. Scrapers gold. Go to a local scrap yard and talk to the workers there. They can show you what to pick up. Get a good pair of wire snips and cut off the power cords. It's insulated copper. Store it in a tub, and when heavy, take in. Will be a lot more than 50 cents.
@DumpsterThriving22 күн бұрын
Thanks for the tips I just learned a decent amount from workers at the scrap yard - they’re very helpful but just learned a lesson the hard way, but not by not taking something apart and getting better prices

That box fan has a nice little motor in it, but the vacuums are hard to manage. I do scrap for metal, and you're right; it takes a little work to tell the metals apart. but once you figure out how you want to do it, you can make it work. /Rubs fingers together/
@DumpsterThriving23 күн бұрын

It’s ok for corporate stores to waste but if the average American Citizen wastes it a big deal. It should be set outside and let the people take what they want to throw away.
