I remember being a you kid and seeing all these cars on trailers in and around the craylends estate in Basildon 😂.

good to see early Arena Essex stuff as I was taken there for a World championships in early 80's that my father competed in, I don't suppose anyone has got any footage from the White City back in the early days coz that was a hell of good track that I visited many times.

Love your old videos mate, they bring back good times, I watched the video about the beginning of Spedeworth at Matchams and I believe my Dad was in one of the races you showed in 1975, in fact I still remember the car.Also if he was in it then so would his brother,they are Grayham and Andy Jessopp who raced from the very early days and gave me my first memories, so thanks for the reminder.

Just found this video, it's full of happy memories, the footage of the big van was won by me 275 it was the best race of my life. Good video good tune, better than the arena essex music !

@AdamC316 I know, My dad had to go up against them and his car got wrecked and he said it was one of the best races of his life :) shame they're not going anymore and its an even bigger shame that racing is not like it used to be. But i still love it :)

@fordman2141 well it is a race to get certain amount of laps first but mostly thats not really the aim its just to smash the shit out of each other :D its fun!! :D

ford man , its just normal racing with full contact allowed....finish the race in first place but your allowed to destroy your opponents

Oh crap, it's about the most violent sport around! Kill the car, kill the driver I say. Let them all die in agony in the fatal pile-up of their dreams. It's no different from the days of the gladiators - the crowd wants to see glorious death. When I go to banger racing I'm always hoping at least one driver will go all the way. Sorry ladies, but yes I hope your hubby gets killed if he's a banger driver :-) Love it :-) :-)

Absolutely brilliant. I love it when theres a fatality or someone in the crowd get hurt. If I had a go at banger racing Id be lethal cos Id be so tempted to drive hard into someones drivers door to see if I could take them out properly :-) It was an accident, honest! ;-)
