I stopped this at 3 minutes and 48 seconds to say this is so needed, and affirming, and important. I’m grateful that you both decided to share part of your insides with us. I started on Episode 3 on Spotify, and really loved the pace of your conversation. To come to KZbin to see it is another level.

Really enjoyed listening to this. Even though I am not a parent. This helped me process some of my history with my parents, and this gave me some insight into what building trust in relationship can look like.

American motto since its separation from the British rule. "In God we trust" and "E pluribus unum" (out of many one) America has called for unity since plantation owners, owned human capital. Far too often we can so easily fall victim to these thought progressions, because we have bent to mass group think. When the mob pressures or demands society to see the world through their eyes rather than see it as how history has written its self. In particular, how history engraved its self according to its time. I shy away from seeing history through todays lens. that's where the concept of unity can be manipulated. Martin Luther King was no doubt a revolutionary man, and as far as I am concerned, the greatest example next to Booker T Washington for Black Americans than any other that previously existed in those harsh times in American history. However, the major difference between Booker T and King. Booker T provided skills for action, which in turn provided Black Americans a formidable wage and higher degree of intellect. While King provided a resistance with words that formulated a business for his predecessors that continues to fuel the flames of division today. Today Black and Brown bodies choose to use their blood earned freedom to blame the majority in America for their lack of success. Now America has not created unity, however America is the first country to embrace/receive it in ways, not even the Roman empire did, during the time where Jesus famously died on the cross. You may recall, that the Jews received no benefit for inhabiting Roman territory. America for the last 100 years has extended benefits, asylum, provisions and shelter to bodies not native. Despite how we observe history today, America was conquered by another form of Rome and has emerge towards providing the beacon of hope. Hope that our history, does not define us. Hope that our Bigotry does not stunt us. Hope that past bloodshed was not in vain. Alveda King (Martin Luther king Jr' niece) said in response to Congresswoman Maxine Walters, "she is on the wrong frequency, far too often she focuses on her skin color." I'll leave you with this Rich. "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Lets stop talking about how we have to confront our own bigotry and start enjoying the freedom 600 thousand White and Black men died for. Freedom! If that doesn't matter to you; The greatest of them all, Died for our Freedom. Jesus Christ! Amen!

Feel this. Good word man. It was a blessing to find this. 2020 changed our life and future. We unexpectedly were taken out of the work in East Asia. A place where we started the church and planted deep roots. Where we though we'd be for an indefinite amount of time. We were left in "that space". In that He eventually led us to a new place (we're planting a church in Osaka, Japan) He had for us that we didn't know. But, like you said, the best thing hasn't been the certainty of what's next but how we have EXPERIENCED God in "the space" this year. Hope the fam is doing well!

exciting news bro! ending are tough but beginnings won’t happen without that. there’s a gift for us in between those two. just like a child comes from the pain of a pregnancy ending, there’s life after a painful end

So much dialogue needs to be had about communication gaps btwn us and gen prior. What we can learn about them, ourselves and how we want to interact w/ the gen to follow. As a ppl I think we generally lack the things that represent social/communicative infrastructure (ie trust, courage, awareness) needed to have these powerful convos. A lot of space for collective grieving/healing and vision casting. Loved this.

As a single dad raising a 13 yr old and 5 year this touched me. Especially coming from the same background (Wash Heights) and dominican parents, it's been very much a journey. Also considering I lost my dad at age 7. Thank you for sharing this #delomio
