I have a G6-2017 and I've come to this realization too. No BIOS update for us and no option to switch to Fixed Mode. I'm going to call HP about this on Monday since I'm not getting any help from their website. If they don't fix this then they're seriously going to regret it.

I upgrade my laptops HP Pavilion dv7-6135dx to windows 8 pro, and is no way that I get the other video card working only the Intel is working, what I can do ?

for now there is no 4k content to use on these 4k tv’s,there is a couple of bluray that is remastered in 4k but these are not real 4k!! they are made so you can play them on the new bluray player that can make an upscale to 4k,again it is not a real 4k.comparing to my samsung series 8 bluray movies looked better on samsung,the only way to be blown away and get the benefit is to play original 4k content on these screens,and when they launched the one and only 4k media server it’s not compatible!!

ooh yeah be careful the media server is not compatible with sony 4k tv’s,hard to believe!!! you can search and see i am shocked i just bought the 84: 4k and shocked cause there is no 4k content to use on this tv!!! made my search and found that i am not the only one solo many people are angry regarding this issue sony must make an upgrade to the hdmi ports on the new 4k tv’s so the media player can be used.

hey , hi , i also installed win 8 and updated drivers , but win 8 said there is a problem with video driver so it automatically disabled it ...... i am using default in built video driver [ intel HD 3000 ]

doesnt work on the dv7-4073ca

download the windows 7 drivers, install with compatibility
