It's good to show the work and frustration that goes into making videos. I think our society is perfection obsessed to the point where we expect everyone who knows how to do anything to just be default on point all the time, which sets all of us up for imposter syndrome and nothing can kill a creative spirit faster than that. Besides, what a boring existence it would be without the ability to improve, not to mention some of the best stories I tell are about my flops. But I've got a pretty good sense of humor so I know how to laugh at my mistakes. LOVE these hats!

I hated being in front of the camera when I was doing it, but I would occasionally pop my face on screen LOL. For the record - It doesn't matter how much you know, so much as what you DO know and you're willingness to share it if that makes any sense at all? Point being - you may relay information in a way that no one else does and people with brains that gel with yours will better understand the info you're sharing. You never know who needs to hear what you have to say regardless of what it is. We all have something to contribute. Also - taking care of yourself is important. That comes from someone who sucks at it. That was my Husband's job - Taking care of and making me take care of myself. When he passed in '21 I realized no one would ever do that for me again. So for the last three years I've been struggling to figure out how to take care of me. I still suck at it most days, but slowly, I'm figuring it out. Cheers!

Warning - Wall of text with an apology - It's great input. When I was Vlogging the greatest challenge was recognizing that it is in fact, Work. People think it's just "Oh, shoot this, post it up and bam! Insta-content" But it can be mind numbingly exhausting when you're taking it seriously and putting in the effort to make something view worthy. I learned to take my cam with me everywhere I went so that if inspiration struck, I could record. Also I learned the importance of "B role" for fillers and cut scenes etc. I also started a running list of things to do and began to stock pile vids in the can so that I could actually take a break and not worry because I'd have 5 -8 completed videos completed and good to go. It becomes mentally, emotionally and physically taxing no matter how good you are at it. Hence the reason I gave it up after a couple years. To me, it's a personal judgement call. I ended up spending more time behind the camera and on the editing screen than actually doing things that brought me joy. I didn't want to be a professional vlogger so for me, it had to go. Now I've got people asking me if I'd do a Twitch stream when I pinstripe and I was like....Ahhh I doubt it. My daughter is a gamer who streams and I've already seen the toll it's taken on her and that's just live so whatever happens happens but it still has its own forms of pressure. So to me - If it energizes you and you stay passionate about honing it, then do it, but if it sucks your soul away then evaluate how much is fun and only do that much. There's tons of unpleasant tasks we are sort of stuck having to do in this life - It's not necessary to go looking for more. I love your videos and while I may not tune in everyday, when I do, I truly enjoy them and find them helpful. Informative vids are harder than just straight up entertainment vids. I don't think there's much you can do to improve on a talking head style video. Okay... I said "Something" Cheers!

Love this concept. What a cool way to generate interest in a location! I always love the after dark style attractions and exhibits. It allows for more of an immersive experience. It's been my opinion that we rely on our sight and light so much more than our sense of smell and hearing. After dark attractions seem to wake up those other senses and heighten what we take for granted. Very fun!

I grabbed a couple of these, haven't gotten to them yet. I'll have to mess around with them and get a feel for them. Still working my way into the scrolling. It's still scary to me. Also, can I just say I'm so relieved to hear someone else say they hate painting on white. I can't stand working on white but your the first person I've heard mention the same distaste for it. Really appreciate your reviews on the Materials and supplies. Also appreciate that you come across as laid back around the art form "It's just paint" Other vids I watch, the stripers seem really high strung and it gives me anxiety, which means I have to drink decaf while watching just to stay calm watching 'em. Mahalo!

Like he said, it's just paint. It wipes off if you screw up or need to start over. - - - I was a sign writer who got into custom paint and striping after opening a Harley shop in the late '80s. Made tons of money after learning the tricks of the trade. I'm 71 and still in the business when someone wants some work done. - - - Don't let it be scary. Have fun, experiment until you have found your own style. Practice on anything you find laying around. Common items are bowling pins, toilet seat covers, trash cans, fire extinguishers, etc. - - - BTW, per Chris's review, I bought the 'Drag'n-fly' set. I haven't tried them yet, but from the feel of them after a soak in a good brush oil they seem like a good choice. (Even though they're synthetic bristles, a good oil will prevent any residual paint from hardening in the heel.) - - - Good luck.

"That's the paddles and that's a whole other video...." That got me. Speaking of grey or gray or whichever one is the right one, I am literally working on a commission that is entirely in grey/gray, white and black. At first I thought it was gonna be really bland, but I'm about a quarter of the way through it now and discovering there really are a load of shades of grey/gray to play with, although I think I'll stay away from the paddles - not quite my shade. Love the purse! I've been branching out with brushes lately, giving them all a go just to see what I can do with what. Still not scrolling yet, or at least not like a big kid. More like a toddler on rock candy, but I imagine it'll come with more practice. I have really small hands and stubby fingers so I tend to gravitate towards the shortest handles I can find - Maybe that's all in my mind, but it seems like the longer or larger the handle the less control I've got. When Video blogging started gaining traction, my Dad started a vlog called "Richard Show" he got so busy with the videos and travelling to meet other vloggers that my Mum started calling herself a "Vlog Widow" I decided to pick on my dad a little bit and did a quick 20 second black and white silent movie style vlog featuring her in widow's weeds with a veil and flowers mourning over a "grave" It's been over a decade now and I don't remember the whole bit, but They both thought it was hilarious, so I started a vlog of my own called "Daughter Show" and Posted up short vids on a semi regular basis. It's not easy to post every day. Especially if you're adding music, subtitles, cut scenes and blocking etc. Even just sitting in front of a camera doing talking things it can get really tiring.
