Very good explanation, thank you. However, too much ads in one video, makes the learning so annoying.

Im so emberassed that i cant even do simple math but how did you get the values for D and B
@dagordon12 жыл бұрын
B = F / [ (0.04 - 0.55) / (0.55 - 0.98) + 1 ]

Hello sir I hope you'll see this comment, I would like to ask where did you obtain the constants for solving Pvap for the 3rd component? I really thought at first it was the antoine's constant and the values were not coinciding base from the book that I am referring to. Receiving your answer would be a great help thank you so much more power sir
@askteacherjay9592 жыл бұрын
It is already given from the word problem. There are many sources aside from Antoine's Equation that mathematically determine the vapor pressure of a substance at a particular temperature. You can actually use the Antoine Equation in lieu of the one I used here in the video. Apologies for the super late reply! I am not really active here in my KZbin channel since I only visit here if there is a need for me to upload something for my lecture discussions.

Could you give the references of the K factor values? from which site or books? Also how we know the equation of P(vap)? could you explain? or give references? Thank you so much
@askteacherjay9592 жыл бұрын
The equation is already given as part of the word problem. You can use Antoine equation as a replacement for the equation that I used here in the problem.

I used the book of Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics by Sandler.

Is there an explanation for explanation for why condensed distillate can't be super-cooled?
@askteacherjay9592 жыл бұрын
It can be cooled below its saturation temperature, which can happen in the real setting. However, for cases of problem solving, the subcooled temperature must be stated to calculated how much heat was released to lower down the temperature below the saturated liquid temperature.
