This is not done correctly do not shove all that wire into your load center. Pull the wire out of the actuator and leave a couple feet as a service loop then cut it and connect it back in the actuator

Calcium needs to be at at about 240. You're okay where it is. If 480, check your tap water. If its high drain half to 2/3 of the water and refill. Then re check.

This is a how to video for those that want a fast way to figure out how much water to drain. I teach water chemistry on my Instagram channel. A 240 Calcium is good for a chlorine in the summer time. If you have a salt pool the calcium should be at least 300 to 350 to offset the high TDS from the salt. Thanks for your comment.

Turn breaker off. Disconnect the load side wires and see if the breaker still does not reset. If it trips, replace the breaker. If it doesn't it has to be something with the heater.

How long did that motor last? I’ve had mine for 2 years now, 50 pools a week, it probably works 10-15 hours a week. It is now making a slight squeal noise when I turn it on at my first pool of the day but as soon as it hits the water it doesn’t do it for the rest of the day. Makes me wonder how much longer it has to live.

So everything with this system works fine but my buttons stopped working on the cover. The power button works but up/down/left/right no longer do anything. Can I just change out the cover? Do the strips on the inside of the cover need to be soldered to the circuit board or just “plugged in”/attached? This system is less than 5 years old. I don’t think this should be an issue yet but the Florida heat wears things differently. Any help would be amazing.

The answer to your question is that excess CYA makes your chlorine ineffective at killing algae & bacteria. In fact, no matter what your test kit says you have in free chlorine, your real useable level is only the amount ABOVE 7.5% of your CYA. So if you have 100 ppm CYA, your first 7.5 ppm chlorine is worthless. 7ppm chlorine when you have 100 ppm CYA is about the same as zero chlorine. So if you want the effectiveness of 3ppm killing power, you need would actually need 10.5 ppm chlorine when your CYA is at 100 ppm. 30 ppm CYA is the ideal sweet spot to keep from losing chlorine to sunlight and also keep it effective. Search KZbin for Orenda cyanuric impacts chlorine for a better explanation

you really need to be careful cleaning these. I would only recommend using the acid if its getting really bad. You can damage the metal plates and remove the film that keeps them protected. Also 1 to 3 is way too strong. The guide recommends 1 to 10 and also wear some gloves!
