Someone told me that paper has a shelf life. I can't imagine how that can be, but maybe it's the sizing that's gone bad? I would write to the company that makes that sketchbook so they are aware of the problem. LOVE your art!

Yes I think it’s the sizing on the paper has gone bad. I’ve heard that watercolor paper tend to go bad easily in humid environment so probably it’s my bad not keeping it properly living in a tropical country

Hahahah how amazing you still remember my white nights! Now I use a mixture of different brands. And 300gsm Waterford cold press paper

@@untamed_little_wolf The speed reels are great though I like the real time long form the best. I've been doing the urban sketching style illustration for so many years yours is a nice reminder that there's other techniques that are fun too. Your art refreshes the mind and spirit.

This was one of the first videos I watched when I wanted to try watercolor, but didn't know what to paint. I only had an really old Prang watercolor set and a not so good brush. But you inspired me so much that I've been painting ever since. (and have spent a fortune on watercolors and papers lol) Thank you!

How does paper go bad? Like moldy?

I’m not sure what’s the technical term for it haha. But when you apply water it’ll sink through to the back and little yellow spots show up on the paper. In this case the color can’t blend properly

February 12 12:10 AM Your work is absolutely lovely but these demos are practically useless. Sped up one can extract no meaningful lessons. As an art teacher, I would give this no quarter, especially for beginning students. This is just showing off, not a practical demonstration. Just post the picture and leave it be.

Sorry for the late reply I’ve been away from KZbin for quite a while. As a self taught artist, sped up tutorials are my favorite to watch that’s why I’ve always made my videos that way too. Glad to share I just uploaded a real time demonstration and I hope you find it useful :)
