Everything Clough achieved was in partnership with Peter Taylor. Yet Taylor never gets a mention. Why is that? You yourself don't mention Taylor once. Clough had a great TV persona and had a big mouth. But on his own... he was a failure.

Great times to be a British boxing fan. Wharton was so tough, but I did think Slugger O’Toole just popped him in their domestic bout. A lot of domestic quality at middle/super middle back in those days

@@paulanthony5274 All the boxing came from Castro Smith I reckon. If I remember rightly the referee scored the contest, so the ref agreed. Wharton came forward-he always did, but I think Smith boxed better on the back foot, as did most of Brendan Ingle’s fighters at the time

@@thesanestdaysaremad Can't remember how we met him but there was a load of us hear in york who was following Leeds and also involved in the drug and rave scene and Kenny started hanging around with us, over the next several years we all got involved in certain things together and had some right laughs and made some money but his lifestyle sort of got out of hand with the drugs and he slowly moved on and sadly not for the better. I know the ending but prior to that he was a good friend. Thanks for the reply.

I've been home and away many many times with Leeds, and never experienced what you're saying. Not saying it doesn't happen, but I'm certain it does elsewhere. And what's your obsession with something that happened before you were born. Clough was no more ready for Leeds than they were for him. He took Derby to the 1st div title, but his employer there couldn't wait to see the back of him. Without Taylor at Leeds, it was never going to work
