What an amazing video mamn, I completely understood it. I was so confused about it, but now all my doubts are clear. By the way, you need to have a solid understanding of the basics to get this video :)

You probably just missed it. From my experience half of the Rheumatologist I’ve gone to are only capable of saying “let’s wait until the symptoms progress.”

Yeah, you are quite condescending. Don’t understand the purpose of this video. Seronegative spondyloarthropathy is a debilitating disease. You’ve missed it because you don’t listen to your patients. Maybe be a little less judging, put down your ego and ask your patients to describe what a day is like walking in their shoes.

Hi, The men thing is well, why I wasn't diagnosed for 10 year's.... please don't disregard woman who have this. My professor Rheumatologist saw me and diagnosed me quickly. I then was already at the stage of two neurosurgeries

Yes. You as many others have pointed out. My education is based on "classic" explanations to prepare students for exams. Real world experience can be different. With time, the literature and books will adjust. Thank you again for pointing this out. Very important.

If not NSAIDs for OA, what is the treatment? I’ve got hand, feet, hip, knee, and shoulder pain. I’m only 95 pounds so weight is not an issue nor job overuse.

I was taught just the opposite. OA pateints wake up with stiffness and pain that improves throughout the day, typically. Has that thinking changed?
@Biomations Жыл бұрын
In reality both are grey areas that may improve throughout the day. But classically, OA will worsen and RA will improve.

Since spondyloarthropathies cause synovial hypertrophy and bone erosion just like RA, treatment involves prednisone and Plaquenil to stop further damage. NSAIDS may or may not take the edge off the pain but it’s only treating the symptoms and not the cause. And btw, many women have the condition as well.

I’m a female diagnosed with seronegative spondylar arthritis. History of eczema, no psoriasis, no spine problems. History of pink eye. Hard for doctors to figure out what I have! Some say undifferentiated. 🤣

@@bekenglishbekof9972 when I was 18. Two synovectomy surgeries (knee and TMJ) when I was 30 that helped very much. Does not seem so active now that I am in my 60s. I refused treatment with methotrexate because of side affects. Best results with sulfsaslazine and less so with hydroxychloroquine. Ibuprofen helped the best but I can no longer take because stomach upset. There is no cure. Best to go to rheumatologist and eye docs who are familiar with it. Best advice is to always keep moving no matter what. 💪🏻 voltaren gel is great as well.

@tumbleweedweed36912 жыл бұрын
I have had it since age 17. I had joint surgeries (knee, TMJ) that really helped me. So did NSAIDS. Sulfasalazine and hydroxychloroquine helped. I recommend you visit a rheumatologist to guide your care. I am now in my 60s and it is not as bad as in my 20s and 30s. Always keep moving. If the bike is too much (and it is for me) then walk or swim. But never give up!
