Hello guys my name is Reetu and a newbie to Product Management. I covered initials of the course where we learn about product life cycle, but that raises a question in my mind that how would one identify if a company’s product in its growth stage or not. Or in general how we can identify these milestones(stages) within a life cycle of a product? Please let me know if somebody can tell in brief.
@dezkr
@dezkr 4 ай бұрын
Hi Reetu, Thanks for your comment. It's great that you have questions. The more you practice the better you'll get at this. Here is a link to an article we wrote a while ago on product lifecycle(content might overlap with that in the course). www.dezkr.com/blog/product-lifecycle-management-meaning/#growth Do the following exercise that will help you in putting the theory into practice and grasping the concept of lifecyle: Pick up 3 companies, apps that you use and try to evaluate them based on what you have learned so far. Try to categorize them into different stages and your reasoning behind it. Send your analysis to [email protected] and we will build our discussion from there. Hope that helps

In my environment, we are less of the micromanagement daily scrums, and more so about showing up, working as a team to accomplish short term goals, and discussing how we get there via our WBS.
@dezkr
@dezkr 8 ай бұрын
Great to hear that your team has found a process that works for all of you:). The original intention behind daily standups was never about micro managing the teams work but rather enabling them to be successful in what they do. Unfortunately like a lot of other frameworks/processes it is also being used incorrectly.

Some of the concepts are best understood by walking through examples and the definition might vary depending on the industry, b2b vs b2c etc.You can email me at [email protected] and we can setup a call to discuss it further and help you provide a bit more clarity in grasping these concepts:)

Sorry forgot to hit reply after typing out the message:). Ofcourse it's possible to make a lateral move. You have to focus on the right skills to develop in order to make the transition. Speaking specifically of a QA role. You work closely with the product. Which is a great start. Work towards understanding "why" the product team is building "what" they are building. Seek out opportunities to talk to end users on a regular cadence which will help you build empathy towards the challenges they face while using the product. Hope that helps!

I work for a company who analyzes vehicle data and provides insights to customers. Our revenue is based on monthly active vehicle for each customer. How do I calculate reach ? When we launch a feature, it is possible that it is only for one customer or multiple customers. Should i sum up the total monthly active vehicle for reach ?
@dezkr
@dezkr Жыл бұрын
Would need more context but from what I can gather here is my take. You should use the sum of active vehicle for your reach calculation. When you launch a feature do all customers see it and access it if they want? If yes then you will use the sum of all customers for your calculation.

Why the f should we have a mandatory meet everyday, are people ignorant of tech like mails to communicate? Feels like behaving in front of a ring master.

I hear you! And sorry that you feel that way. That is not the intention behind a standup meeting. The standup meeting doesn't necessarily need to happen everyday or in person. It really depends on how the team is setup, the type of work and what works for each team. 1. The frequency can be adjusted for what works best for the team and is an iterative process. You can start with daily, a few times a week or beginning or end of the week and find the right balance. 2. Updates can be shared on slack or other mediums that the team is more comfortable on. If it still feels "like behaving in front of a ring master" then there is definitely a larger company culture issue that should be looked into. I hope these suggestions help 🙏

Hey, Thanks for the video. it's really informative, however, why don't you show a mock-up product roadmap to visualize whatever it's been explained in the video. It's like the cherry on top of a cake.

Thanks Kanike for your feedback 😃. We purposely kept the product roadmap "template" out of the video because we wanted the audience to focus on the foundations in this video. You will find the "mock-up" you are referring to in our free course. Here is the link to the section on communicating the product roadmap that goes through it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZSrf3mtgcloZ9E Hope that helps 🙏
