Currently we have 4 macaws | two B&G | one Green-winged | one Jubilee Hybrid. As we are currently building out our facilities to house more (without cages) feel free to reach out if you need to surrender a bird or birds! If we can’t house them, we will find them a great home.

Our 34 y/o Non hybrid B&G macaw was raised around our now 15 y/o son. We took precautions so that our toddler would never stumble into the aviary and get hurt but now our son can handle her with his bare hands. Now I was taught when I first got a parrot that they should always learn the step up onto a training stick. That way no one would feel they needed to handle them if they didn’t feel comfortable. So pet sitters or visitors could use the training stick to move or remove parrots if needed.
@kigibirds11 күн бұрын
We have a few different techniques and methods that work for us with our flock! We use the stick method you mention and it works great! Once our parrots are moved from their flock perches they are much more human bonded, as a flock they revert back to how they would act in nature and are very protective of their space and of each other.

THANK YOU QUAND ILS DANCENT SUR LEUR BRANCHE C EST QU IL VEUT SORTIR MAIS BIEN SUR AVEC UN HARNAIS et sur UN PETIT ARBRE MAIS IL FAUT COUPER DES AILES INTERDIT PAR LES ELEVEURS MAIS BIEN MIEUX QUE DE LES LAISSER enfermés toute leur vie / pareil pour les cris il demande à boire ou manger ou sortir

These Macaws if given human interaction, love to be held and are very cuddly birds ... they need human interaction, and a lot more purches ... and toys
@kigibirds13 күн бұрын
If you watch more of our videos you will see that they all get human interaction! They also rotate into different rooms with varied structures and toys. Not sure why you would leave a comment like this based off of one video interaction? Also when you have multiple birds like this the flock mentality takes precedence over human interactions and we let the birds decide when or if they want to interact.

I’ve shared my life and home with a many as 4 parrots, 2 of which were macaws. I had a CH conure and a severe macaw that I raised. Both of them have now passed but I still have my big bird who is 34 y/o and has been with me since she was 10 months old. We also adopted a needy CAG who is roughly 35-40 y/o. They do need a lot of attention, love and they make pretty big mess but I’m happy to say so far I’ve been able to give 2 parrots a forever home, and now may look into rescuing or adopting a conure. They are like children and need lots of creative enrichment and high quality food. I haven’t shared videos of my birds publicly as it opens the door for lots of well meaning perhaps opinions and maybe even mean comments. Par for the course on YT. I hope people don’t get a parrot just because they see them on YT. It’s a lifetime commitment, ask me, I know! Your birds look clean and I’m sure your doing your best to meet their needs. Not everyone can successfully manage big birds for decades 🤷🏼♀️ ❤

My favorites are Medjool dates (Costco has them!). Softer and way tastier than those! P.S. what a gorgeous bird!
@wasdaddanАй бұрын
Yes, because the Medoul dates are fresher (and bigger) and the highest quality. Lidl has them here, but only around christmas. Expensive though worth it.
