didn't look at all like I remember from my flight into Da Nang....of course I was coming in on a chartered continental air lines jet along with 70 other Marines from a stop over in Okinawa.it was around midnight, looking out my side window I could view what looked like fireworks far off in the night.i would shortly become familiar with the area from which the "fire works" had been coming from on my arrival. this was February 13,1971. I would spend the next 6 months patrolling and fighting up in the quant nam province. I would be flying out of Da Nang on a hot day at the end of June headed back to my part of the "WORLD". I think of Viet nam a lot. it was a tragic waste of lives and lost potential. lost friends from my high school thereby lost friends from my platoon there.i remember leaving Da Nang out of the ack gate of the airport in a 6 Bye with a group of other replacements headed out to our unit in the bush.kids were begging for food, cigarettes,,pimping their "sisters" the air reeked of garbage ,smoke, trash. you name it. there is not one damn thing in VIIET NAMi would ever want to go back and see

Great sightseeing tour of Narita; I've taken flights from there and never taxied half as long. I guess the TC was trying to tick off this captain.

Wonderful! I've flown into Queenstown many times. My brothers live in Arrowtown and our family has been there since the 1890s. I can make out one brother's house at Arrow Junction at 2:5. What is even more spectacular is the port side view when landing on runway 23 (the one you landed on). In low cloud the Remarkables just suddenly appear right next to you.

From the south is not as spectacular as coming in from the north with the city to your left but still a great view with Cronulla, Kurnell, Sans Souci and Ramsgate on your left.
