Im in Houston Tx zone 9 and I feel like it's too hot here for most hydrangeas. We used to live 100 miles northeast of here which was zone 8 at the time, and we had hydrangeas. I just loved them.
@NationalGardenBureau2 ай бұрын
Yes, hydrangeas are a bit picky but can grow in Houston. This article might help plantsforallseasons.com/growing-hydrangeas-in-texas/

Love this. Talking about books is just the best. My suggestion is fewer authors to get more in-depth about their books and themselves.

I know this discussion is primarily focused on gardeners from USA but I need some info on growing Oriental Lilies in India. Asiatic do fine here, but what can be done to protect and re-bloom oriental lily bulbs in Indian Subtropical Climate?
@NationalGardenBureau2 ай бұрын
Oriental Lilies need a chilling period to rebloom. The best suggestion would be to purchase new bulbs each spring that have already been chilled or dig up your bulbs and place them in a refrigerator for next spring. Oriental Lilies do not like temperatures over 85 degrees F.

Just put in 5 Candy Corn, which I love, and the deer ate 4 out of the 5. If you don't have deer it's a good plant. I even sprayed them with deer and rabbit repellent and they still ate them. So disappointing. NE NJ location.

Can you revive a mandevilla from overwatering
@NationalGardenBureau5 ай бұрын
It depends on how bad it is...immediately stop watering and let it dry out. Mandevillas are drought-tolerant plants. Make sure there is proper drainage in the pot. As you know Mandevillas do not like wet feet. You can remove the plant from its pot and inspect the roots. Trim off any roots that are black, soft or mushy as these are rotten. Repot the plant. Hope that helps.

How often do you water them?
@NationalGardenBureau5 ай бұрын
Geraniums do not like to have too wet of soil so be sure to do the soil test by reaching your finger down in the soil and if it is dry a few inches down, it would be fine to water. In a container, be sure to water if the soil is dry.
