Hi Guto, at the moment we have nothing for heel generation but that is a good feedback and we will address this.

So As a Footwear Engineer, specialized in pattern and prototyping development I feel like there are big mistake in the work flow: I have use plenty of the newest and oldest softwares for footwear development and the best and most convenient work flow is the one that emulates the physical one. Drawing in the last and immediately seeing the modification in the flattening, NEVER THE OPOSITE. you want to remove steps not the oposite. If I had to flat the last to get the Shells, then digitalize, then digitalize the last, then draw in the flattening and imagine in my head how it will set on the 3d, then "FLOW" it on the 3d last, then going back to the flat to make modifications.... ¡? NO NO NO. In this cases I would definitely ratter to do the Development by hand. You are adding unnecessary steps to the work flow process. Steps that makes you invest more time to your process ( and this time can already be saved) footwear development softwares (the ones that are really going into the correct way) gives you the facility of processing the shoe last (which in many cases also include scaling it and preparing for its manufacture). After that you are all set to draw on the digital 3D last and simultaneously seeing the 2D or flattening being created. Drawing in 3D will shoe automatically in 2D <---This is an actual Feature a really USEFUL feature. This feature gives you the faculty to eliminate various processes like drawing on the physical last, shelling the last, scanning the shells and drawings, vectorizing them, import them to the pattern software. all those steps are eliminated thanks to this unique feature. Other feature that is added in actual footwear development softwares is "adding technical modifications" for example: making the external and internal shell to be coherent between them. Adding or removing material on the hill in order to consider the behavior of the physical upper, adding the insole tolerance, adding the lasting material ETC. Making the external and internal shells coherent is one of the other key features that a footwear development software should have. The fact that here in gotcha I have to comprehend the UV flat mapping, the 3D uv mapping and the actual 2D flattening¡? this will really complicate the things for someone who is not familiarized with 3D softwares, and I am pretty sure that is going to frustrate them till the point in which are going to drop the plugin. Let's move on to the 3D design part, this one is simple. You could be able to only draw on the 3D last and then pop the pieces out of it to posteriorly give each piece its own attribute, whether it is shape, fillets, padding, thickens, you name it. IT SHOULD BE AS SIMPLE AS THAT. These are just some of the most important workflow key points that I found in BOTCHA. the most important ones I feel. I feel that BOTCHA has potential since the moment that decided to work as an extension of rhino (which is a universal product design and engineering Tool), but come on, you need to consult an actual Footwear expert in the field in order to know the process of developing a shoe... or at least someone that already uses a Footwear software. In my opinion you need to redesign the workflow in this plugin, otherwise is only going to work for people who are -experts using Rhino and develop shoes in Rhino-. And since everyone that uses rhino has their own methods, because rhino is to extent, I feel like even those people will rather to use their own methods. BOTCHA has got potential, but needs actual software footwear development USER guidance. My references (the ones I tried to make a contrast with) are: Romans cad, Caligola, Shoemaster, Mindcad, ICad3d+(the most friendly one in my opinion), Crispin shoemaker, Rhino, Easy Last and the old school hand making development process.
