An audition? I'm shocked. Why audition? Donny was an original member of the (Columbia) Kingsmen. They must have known he had the chops. Anyway. it's a grand slam.

Donny meant it was for future auditions, not an audition for the band

Never saw this before-I love it. Just wonderful. I was born in CA but too scared to surf, except body surfing on tiny waves. 🤣

Had Jon Bauman been born a few decades earlier than he was, he would have had a whole lot more opportunity to show off his beautiful baritone voice, easily in the same league as Howard Keel, Robert Goulet, or Gordon MacRae. He has no trouble at all holding his own opposite Ethel Merman.

Valley Forge Music Fair, around 1981. I'm 14 years old. I spot a vacant seat on the front row and take it. Jocko comes down and hands me his drum stick, likely because I was clapping and grinning like a maniac😂😂 What a night!

For those who don't know, Jan Berry was nearly killed in a car crash in 1966 and had to learn to write with his left hand. Before that, he was an unbearable control freak that was generally hated in the industry. Dean helped Jan recover and do stuff like this appearance. They're probably both pretty high here.

I remember this show. I don’t remember it being this corny. I guess they were cashing in on Grease/Happy Days nostalgia.

Hell Yeah. As a fan of spectacles like 1980's World Wrestling Federation, The Harlem Globetrotters, Roller Derby, Lawrence Welk, Dance Fever, Solid Gold, 70's Variety Sketch shows...this is right up a brotha's alley. My kids wouldn't believe it even if they saw me enjoying this. Thank You.

I often wondered what happened to these guys. One day they were on the top of the heap and almost literally the next day they were gone. I always loved listening to them. Still do I guess. Thank you!!

i was around 8 to 10 when this show was on and i would occasionally watch when my father and uncle would be in the living room watching it, more often i was most likely in my room playing with my Star Wars toys. honestly about the only thing i really remember is Bowser and his whole schtick but i have always loved 50s early 60s music as much as i love the 80s music i grew up with. wixh more young people today could be exposed to that music and have a love for it.
