You know, this video was risque' for its time, but it is so feminine, expressive and fun. Now, I know no one is going to like my next statement, but, not for nothing, it's actually a relief to see an all white group without all that inclusionary bullshit. These were the days when it was still ok to be white.

I had no idea SUGAR TOWN was about LSD! So interesting. Nancy is as symbolic of that era as anything else from the Swingin' Sixties. BOOTS was the first LP I ever bought. I was 8 years old and I still have it now at the age of 66!

I love Nancy, but the comparison with the Beatles regarding amount of albums released is unfair. Nancy didn't write the songs or play any of the instruments, therefore she could release albums more often because much of the work involved was done by others. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking Nancy, her albums are great, but its an apples and oranges comparison.

The first albums of the Beatles are full of covers too
@AshleyReynolds-vc6lyКүн бұрын
@@AlejandroRushInside Not 'full' of covers, but there are some. Most of their albums have no covers at all.

@@AlejandroRushInside Their first album Please Please Me in 1963 had 14 tracks of which 6 were covers and 8 were Lennon-McCartney originals. Anyway, it doesn't matter, the comparison was 1966 when Nancy put out more albums than the Beatles, but by 1966 ALL the Beatles material was original and they played the instruments. Nancy didn't write songs or play instruments on her albums, she only had to lay down vocal tracks, so of course she could put out more albums than the Beatles. I love Nancy's albums, but the comparison isn't valid, they are two different styles.

So sad she stopped getting airplay by the time her song Beautiful Stranger and then this album came out. They are some of her very best songs. Her voice was still top-notch. She was only 42 at this time but decided to put her out to pasture.
