There should be more of these 'overall view point' videos. Very clear of what's capable vs what's not.

On the grcs if you feed the strap through the slit and just feed it through like a ratchet strap you can get the strap really tight

what is the advantage of this over just using your second line as a mrs to work that side of the tree? mrs is retrievable as well. genuinely curious as i want to employ this when i can and should, to do that i need to know why i would.
well ive climbed with a long lanyard and i fuckin hate it, its tangles to much, its not efficient

When I use a long flip line, I attach a tool to the harness to hold the excess line together.

At 2:56 you can see just how much you're twisting the rope rappelling on two rings, the pulley would prevent that and keep your rope from twisting like that.

Great video, and information, one complaint…….ditch the background music, it’s distracting and unnecessary.

Thank you for your message and thank you for your feedback. So far, we've been making movies for those who want to be arborists. The movie production members, including myself, have been very busy for the past few years and have not been able to make new movies. I'm sorry. We will continue to send the latest information on SNS. We will reflect your opinions in future movie creation. Thank you. Kei Kinoshita
Use your lanyard and pull yourself into the tree, body flat against the trunk. You won't slide far. Bsafe and hope this helps anyone.

great video, just a favor can you make a video where you explain how to tie with the carabiners the mainline to use it as a friction saver the same rope. I see you pass the line true the hole, but I can't see how to tie to the Runer.

So you can’t use the winch to pre tension the rope onto the bollard without a spare line and prussic?
@treetopflyers89042 жыл бұрын
The GRCS with the visor plate attachment seems as though it would take heavy shock loads better, the smart winch is relying on the strap and rubber bumpers only. I have found the GRCS without the visor plate, isn't sufficient for heavy rigging and lifting. I want a smart winch but the lack of that upgrade/feature is a deal breaker for me.
@softbankhawks772 жыл бұрын
All of these devices can be ‘cut in’ to the trunk. Do you know what that is? Simply cut a section on the outside of the trunk for the body if the device to sit in, and importantly for the top of it to butt against when rigging big loads. The visor plate is a great idea but for me is not a deal breaker.

@@softbankhawks77 one strap is just so silly why not have two straps with a 12inch space between them and no need to cut any stupid slots or any of that rubbish in the tree just strap it up and off ya go

Can't wait to give this a try. I've been considering myself a "green arborist" for the past year. I think I'm finally advancing my techniques. This will certainly be a blessing to me. I just know it's going to help make me a force to be reckoned with in the canopy. Thank you much for this wonderful information💪🤙😁😎🔥🔥🔥

I've been scratching my head regarding why it is so expensive, and whether it would be worthwhile splicing it myself. As you say, there is careful design behind this, starting with a spliced loop that has enough rigidity to stay open. That would be difficult to overcome by home splicing. The pulley is the DMM rig design, which is larger than the regular DMM pulley, and significantly more expensive. It looks like you need the larger pulley, to allow the retrievable ball to get through and then be stopped by the thimble.
@softbankhawks773 жыл бұрын
The pulley is the smaller size and the yellow (not the RED) retrieval cone slips through nicely. It is not impossible to splice your own with 1 strand rope but they never come out as nice and long lasting as the original item. You can buy just the rope with special eye as a part and then install the pulley and retrieval section as you like, if you wish.
