Hi Lars. So I’ve now acquired your recommend pencils and charcoal set. I’ve ground the charcoal in small pots, ready to use. My intention is to take your advice and follow your instructions. I will let you know my results once I complete a project. Thanks again 😊

Hi Lars. Brilliant watching you work; Do you prefer charcoal or graphite? Or a mix of both?
@lemmanuelholaas22 күн бұрын
Hi Pete😊 bouth. I always use charcoal in the layering stages, and graphite on the details and outlining. But always draw with a light hand on the outlining progress.👍🏻😊

Thanks for this tutorial, some great advice in here. You mentioned a projector. I’ve been using carbon paper but very lightly. As it can leave a dark line. I’d be interested to know more about projectors. Some people say I cheat by using carbon paper but I find it helps me speed up the initial lay out and gets me doing the work I enjoy, creating the image .
@lemmanuelholaas22 күн бұрын
Thank you❤️ back in the days, me too tought using projector was cheating. But its a great helping tool. Because in photo-and hyperrealism the outlines have to be 100% coreect, its one part of the progress. Not everyone is Kelvin Okafor, he is god😅🤩 We are spending several/hundreds of hours on one drawing. So what if the outlining take just a couple of hours/minutes😊👍🏻

Hey Lars. Really great tutorial. My favourite and also the hardest thing to do is the eyes. I always start with an eye to bring the picture to life. Once I’m happy with the eyes, I move on to the nose, then mouth. Thought I will lightly put shape to the hair line and jaw. This helps me realise the image in my mind. Have a peaceful solstice and best wishes for the new year. 😊
@lemmanuelholaasАй бұрын
Hey Pete. Thank you so much :) Me too really have the eyes as the favorite, all the details you find in the eye and the area around it. And the challenge it is to make it accurate to the person who owns the eyes. Best wishes to you too :)

Wow I will learn so much more by watching your videos. thank you for this guidence. I have been a pianist, a dancer, a photographer in my life and now believe it's time to test my art at drawing. I have tried drawing eyes ,a bit like Beardsley, but now find its time to grow. Iprefer pencil and shading, and would love it if you had an online drawing course. You are a great teacher.Thank you.(music sounds like it could be composed by the same composer of "The good, The bad and The ugly" sound track.

Cheers Lars. I’m new to pencil drawing, as an older learner. It happened by chance. I took my teenage daughter to an art class and stayed to keep her company. I started to draw, it was like I found a super power I didn’t know I had! I can draw! I love the whole process of drawing. Like you say, therapy for the soul. I’ve just finished my sixth piece. My art teacher is over the moon with my results. This I put down in part to you and other KZbin artists, sharing their skills. So thank you 🙏🏻 😊

@@lemmanuelholaas look my friend, I can see you are an amazing artist,I’m sorry i Had a bit of a rant, but when I watch a video of a true talented artist I personally would like to learn more of the process from the initial outlay,to the final outcome,and with a description of what pencils you use for each layer,etc,if you made them 2hours long i would watch them because i want to learn how to draw,but I tend not to subscribe to time lapse videos, and looking at your drawing i would definitely subscribe to your channel,again sorry for the rant,good work by the way.
