Last year I was concerned about how the taxes would impact Sandy residents regarding the new fire station. I no longer have that concern as I have learned more details. I appreciate our Sandy firefighters as well as police, EMTs, and all public servants. They have saved my life more than once. Also, this video was very well presented and I appreciate that as well. Thank you Sandy City.

You forgot to tell us how you raised property taxes every year so far, another high density housing at 1300 east SegoLilly drive I guess a person like you has Never tried to drive down SegoLilly drive (9800 south) @ 7:00 am on a school day. Wonderful homeless shelter at 90th south and I-15 close to a elementary school and walking distance to a liquor store on 90th south ( sounds like a great idea) oh and speaking of liquor stores, what great idea to open one at 9400 south and 2000 east in a neighborhood and at least a dozen K-12 schools within 5 miles of it (what was your input on this?) I wonder how long before we have tranny drag shows in our parks? Your so far the greatest second choice mayor in Sandy city history!

Being a survivalist , my first and foremost bag is my medical bag and / or Trama Kit and basic emergency medical kit. Having a Lazer? Would rather carry emergency survival equipment like a LifeTent, but that's me. Everyone will have a different system because people will pack what they feel they need for their different regions and how long to pack for. My Get Home Bag is just that, a Get Home bag. I can sustain life for 3 days for 2 people. Shelter, fire, water, and food .

OK, I understand the message and maybe its good publicity, but the people that need this message are not the ones that will be watching this or even if they did would they care? Very loud mufflers and speeding cars seems to be an epidemic right now. I live off of 13th East in Sandy near Draper. That road from Hidden Valley into Draper is a horrible speedway. It's a big problem in other parts of the country too from what I've witnessed in my travels. I suppose it represents another example of the decay in society. I really miss the 70's, 80's and 90's here in Utah.

Yes please! I'm almost to the point of asking to get speed bumps installed in my neighborhood, because we're a throughway to shopping, and everyone flies down our road. I don't feel safe having kids out front.

We are so blessed to have been able to hire this remarkable individual. He first showed up to 'teach' our officers several years ago, after which we came to know, respect, and become friends with him. His decision to move his family to Utah and come to work for us was like winning the lottery. Chandler Arizona loss was Sandy Utah's gain. What an outstanding human being!

lol, i have a 45 watt led corn cob, and lemme tell ya, the 150 watt HPS if it was a new bulb, is wayy brighter.. Sorry guys, a 45w LED does NOT equal a 150w HPS.. Maybe a 100w led but not 45.. Yes LED saves electricity... but it isnt THAT much.. The savings is only when you replace the 20,000 street lights in your city.. But for a home owner.. the savings is not there to replace 1-2 lights over the cost of a new fixture that may or may not last. its a proven fact the HPS and Mercury vapor fixtures last 20-30-40-50 years... But it is not proven that a LED fixture can last that long. Also the LED fixture MAY advertise that it lasts 50,000 hours lets say.. But that still isnt the same as a HPS or mercury vapor fixture , 1 year is 4032 hours on average of 12 hours run time dusk to dawn.. Do the math thats 10 years.. Have they actually tested your LED's to run 10 years ? There is no way to test that in real time... synthetic tests do not count. I have seen many times over LED fixtures go bad after months to 2 years.. Is the cost savings really there ? Also your corn cob led light has a fan that opens to keep the glare out of houses.. but that means the light is directional.. it only points to the street look at how the pole is positioned.. the side walk wont be covered adequatly anymore. Also answer me how you are saving resident money ? Who is paying for these fixtures to be replaced ? The residents.. Have you lowered the kilowatt hours you charge customers for thier home electric bills ? Have you lowered taxes to offset these savings ? Im betting the answer is no. Also those light poles need to be banned, there is no cover to stop light from causing light pollution.. Did you know the orange glow of a HPS can easily be filtered by astronomers.. but the white glow from LED cannot ? How about you work on getting light fixtures covers that arent spot lights and waste light pointing up ?

these LEDS won't last as long as High Intensity Discharge compnents. every once in a while you need to change the bulb but the ballast and capacitor and igniters will last at least 50 years! while LED's last 20 or so years. LED'S should be banned. you guys suck for doing this shit. Now we are going to be watched by street lights and not be able to sleep at night because of the glare bombs and bluleight shining through a window, if this is the way were going, eventually HID'S will be banned because they are "inefficient" WAH WAH! you energy saver motherfu*kers! my city ( St. George, Utah ) is 100% pure LED and it pisses me off, so these old lights are going to scrap then? well collectors should save them because HID will become as rare as hens teeth in the next 40 years.
